‘Days of Our Lives’ Interview: John-Paul Lavoisier Dishes on ‘DOOL’ Co-Stars, Career and Why He’s Single

“Days of Our Lives” new guy in town John-Paul Lavoisier [Phillip Kiriakis] has a lot to learn, or so he says. After 10 years in the daytime drama business Lavoisier thought he knew it all, but come to find out “DOOL” is a lot different than “One Life to Live.”

John-Paul has grown up a lot since his days as Rex Balsam on “OLTL,” and his portrayal of Phillip Kirakis on “DAYS” shows that growth. In an interview in the most recent edition of Soap Opera Digest John-Paul revealed that working with veteran actor John Aniston [Victor Kirakis] has taught him how to uncover Phillip’s motivation, the reason the Kirakis heir does the things does and why. “It’s almost like [Aniston’s] able to create a subtext for me. I just look at him, listen and I’m Phillip,” John-Paul divulged.

But isn’t just Aniston who has challenged Lavoisier. Eric Martsolf [Brady Black] was the first actor with whom John-Paul taped scenes. Lavoisier acknowledges that Martsolf could have made the experience extremely uncomfortable and difficult. But Eric was nice and funny and the actor’s share a love for movies which made them quick friends.

And It was nice to see a familiar face when Lavoisier arrived on-set. Martha Madison [Belle Brady] and John-Paul had worked together on the four-part web series “Winterthorne.” According to John-Paul the actress was most welcoming. Seems as if Martha and Eric helped John-Paul fit right in and feel at home.

What is life like for John-Paul Lavoisier outside of “Days of Our Lives”? Does he have a girlfriend? Lavoisier revealed in the Soap Opera Digest interview that right now there is no lady love in his life.  It’s pretty difficult to meet women when you from home to work, work to home with a stop or two each week at the grocery store. “I don’t really go anywhere I can meet [women]” John-Paul said. No crazy Hollywood parties, hanging out in bars or nightclubs for Lavoisier.

Single ladies of Los Angeles – John-Paul Lavoisier may be shopping at a supermarket near you – be on the lookout! The actor would like more than anything to fall in love, have a family and “call it a life. That would be the best thing.” Maybe John-Paul will meet his future wife on the set of “DAYS”!

For now John-Paul Lavoisier enjoys hanging out with former “OLTL” co-star Tuc Watkins and his children. Lavoisier revealed in the interview that he oftentimes runs errands with Tuc’s family. Where do they go? A typical Saturday morning outing might find John-Paul and Tuc with the kiddos at Ikea or Home Depot. Apparently Tuc has a lot of errands to run and Lavoisier finds that quite awesome!

While John Paul Lavoisier is waiting for the woman of his dreams to come along he’s hard at work making Philip Kiriakis his own on “Days of Our Lives.” Lavoisier goal is to portray Phillip as a cultured, mature and critical part of the Salem community.
