‘Days Of Our Lives’ Interview: Billy Flynn Reveals Least Favorite ‘DOOL’ Storyline, Plus His Feelings On Kate Mansi’s Exit

‘Days Of Our Lives’ star Billy Flynn has been playing the part of Chad DiMera on the NBC soap opera for less than two years – but he has sky-rocketed to soap infamy over the course of the last few months.  We can still remember when Billy was first cast as Chad – and social media was baffled by the move on DOOL‘s part, he literally was a no-name actor that none of us had ever heard of.  Now, it’s impossible to imagine anyone else in the role of Chad.

Billy Flynn say down with Michael Fairman for an in-depth interview about the rapid rise of his career – and of course his take on the ‘Days Of Our Lives‘ storylines.  Billy Flynn is by far one of the most open soap stars that we have come across, and he doesn’t bite his tongue.

During his interview with Michael Fairman, Flynn revealed that there was one storyline he was not a fan of and he had a tough time acting out the scenes.  The ‘Days’ actor confessed, “I was not happy with the way that it was done, and I have expressed that before.  I didn’t understand what the brainwashing did to service the story.  I saw the script, and the way that I looked at it I realized I had to commit to the material completely.  A person being brainwashed can be absurd.”  But, there were some storylines that Billy absolutely adored – like the birth of his on-screen son after losing baby Grace.

Of course, the topic of Kate Mansi’s exit came up – after all, Chad DiMera wouldn’t be the person he is today in Salem if it weren’t for his romance with Mansi’s character Abigail Deveraux.  Billy praised Kate and totally understands why she was ready to move on from ‘Days Of Our Lives.’ Flynn explained in his interview, “I am happy for Kate, though.  She’s moving on.  It’s on her own accord, which knowing Kate; she wouldn’t have it any other way.   She’s going to be fine.  The mark Kate left on the show will be hers, and forever.”
