‘Days of Our Lives’ is seeking to add another member to its cast. Soap Opera Digest reports that the daytime soap opera seeks to hire an African American male. The NBC soap opera sent out a casting call for a male in his late 20’s to play the part of a character named Levi.
Levi is described in the casting call as “everything a woman could want in a man — he is funny, quick-witted, protective, intelligent and makes an honest living working hard and loving what he does. He can come off as edgy not angry”. So therefore, a lucky woman in Salem is about to get someone to love but who?
This new character would definitely fit into the Salem teen stories with Ciara [Vivian Jovani], Claire [Olivia Rose Keegan], Theo [Kyler Pettis], Jade [Paige Searcy] and Joey [James Lastovic]. Also, could Levi be related to anyone in Salem? Possibly connected to Abe Carver [James Reynolds]? What do you think?
The role is said to be a recurring one but could later become a contract one. This of course, is dependent on the character’s reception from viewers, potential storylines, chemistry with others etc. Filming for the role begins in the latter part of August with an expected air date sometime in 2017.
‘Days of Our Lives’ airing schedule will be halted briefly for the Olympics when the show goes on an approximate two weeks break. This could affect the original air date that was planned for this new character, however, he should begin airing in early 2017.
So ‘Days’ fans what do you think of this casting news? Who do you think from soap history or primetime could take on this role if anyone? Who would you like to see the character get involved with – Claire, Ciara, Jade or someone else?
