‘All My Children’ News: Alicia Minshew – Formerly Kendall Hart Slater – In New TV Show ‘Holiday Shelter,’ Plus Four More Projects!

“All My Children” alum Alicia Minshew [Kendall Hart Slater] has a new television show in the works. The pilot for “Holiday Shelter” begins taping in White Plains, New York on January 11 according to PRlog.

The dramedy is directed by Pat Denson with Gary Denson as executive producer. “Holiday Shelter” stars Alicia as Paula, a recently widowed mother of two teenagers. Paula has her hands full raising children and a full-time job as a teacher but decides to take in a homeless family for the Christmas holiday.

Jenn Gotzon, a faith-based award-winning actress, stars opposite Alicia as the also widowed matriarch of the displaced family. The plot summary of the television series reveals that the two fatherless families experience the ups and downs of life together. Through much struggle and fun they form a warm dong with one another – and each grows in the process.

“All My Children” fans will remember Alicia from her starring role as Kendall Hart Slater – daughter of Erica Kane [Susan Lucci] and wife of Zach Slater [Thorsten Kaye, now Ridge Forrester, “The Bold and the Beautiful”]. Alicia Minshew was nominated twice for Daytime Emmys in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category.

The entire cast list has not yet been released, but it is believed that the child stars for “Holiday Shelter” are off-Broadway child stars. The television series will be distributed for broadcast by New York-based Roughest Crew Productions.

Minshew has many projects in the works, so “AMC” fans will get to see a lot of the actress in the months to come. Keep an eye out for Alicia in two more television series – “The Year Rounders” as Georgina Phillips and “Surviving Sam” as Samantha Gallo. Alicia Minshew also recently lent her voice to the short film “Le Aboutissement.” If that weren’t enough, the actress has one movie in post-production – “This is Now” – and one in pre-production – “Flower Child.”
