In her response to the question, Lucci shared how much she and her cast members were “blindsided;” she went on to say that she didn’t see the ‘AMC’ cancellation coming. Susan admitted that she grieved the splitting of the cast and crew that she had grown to love and who eventually became like family.
Further on Susan was asked what helped her cope with the loss of the show, Lucci responded by saying that it was the fans that she meets wherever she goes that helped her get through the loss. She stated that people would stop her and tell her how much they loved and enjoyed her portrayal of Erica Kane and how much she influenced their lives. Those things she highlights were what helped her cope with the loss of the daytime drama.
