Due to the recent turn of events, ABC television is now re-organizing their schedule, which in turn will be affecting about 5 to 10 people on the West Coast, a source revealed to Variety. Some employees with ABC were even offered other opportunities within the company, though not Lisa Hackner.
During her time with ABC, Lisa Hackner did not bring about any successful new programs, which sources say led to her immediate departure. Many new programs were canceled due to severe rating decline. Lisa was over last season’s short-lived Tyra Banks show of “FabLife,” which was cancelled after just one season, following Banks quitting her own series. “The View” also moved positions from the daytime screen to ABC’s news division in 2014. Reports say that Lisa had a great relationship with Tyra Banks throughout the entire phase of the show however that did not stop the show’s cancellation.
At Telepictures, Lisa had an impressive list of daytime shows she developed and piloted during her decade tenure, including “Tyra Banks,” “TMZ,” plus “Bethenny” and “Anderson Live,” though the latter two were not on the air for very long. Clearly, the idea of these shows was to enhance viewers to tune into ABC and boost ratings for the company. These shows ratings also declined drastically and ABC could not continue to run the programs as planned. Many attempts were made to save the shows but to no avail as the programs were going downhill and fast.Hackner’s departure comes after the exit earlier this year of American Broadcasting Company’s entertainment president Paul Lee, to whom she also reported. Lee was then ushered out in February, replaced by the network’s drama chief, Channing Dungey. Hackner is the second of Lee’s top lieutenants to leave the network in recent weeks, with comedy chief Samie Falvey departing last month TV’s new joint digital venture with Verizon.
