The 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony was packed full of 2016’s best and brightest soap stars. There was certainly some stiff competition this year and all the races were tight. I’ll tell you who got robbed…the actress you plays Emma Drake on GH…she had amazing scenes with the separation between Patrick and Sam…and then the insistence of finding her mother…all very emotional by a young actress…jmo
I wholeheartedly agree! That girl out-acted a lot of A-list adult actors in those scenes.
It would ‘ve been nice if we could’ve seen this awards show. Why did you not air it?
This is a quote posted by someone on FB. “the awards show did not have the financial backing that it needed this year in order to air on television. National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences senior vice president David Michaels told TV Insider:
Last year, NATAS paid for the entire production and we just can’t do that again. We’re a non-profit. Nobody could have made a greater effort to try to work a deal than [NATAS president] Bob Mauro, but we fell short on the money and our board decided not to go ahead with [a telecast] this year.”
Looks to me like one of the 3 major networks, all of whom had shows and actors nominated, would have eagerly put forth the effort and money to air the show, but I guess they are all too greedy.
NATAS should establish a crowdrise.com page to get the funding to bring back the Daytime Emmy’s next year.
Sad that Y&R only won one award. Jessica Collins needs to come back to Y&R, let her and Dylan get back together they do have chemistry together. HAPPY, SO HAPPY HAPPY THAT HUNTER KING DID NOT WIN. Y&R take NOTICE.
