Who Is The Cruelest Male Soap Opera Character Right Now? Vote In Our Poll!

No soap opera worth its salt is lacking an unscrupulous villain. These are the men that lie, rob, steal, kidnap or blow up their enemies and seduce or schmooze their way into the beds of every woman in town. We love to hate them and can’t wait to see what they’re plotting next. While all of our favorite daytime dramas have a rich history of epic villainy, today we’ll take a look at one from each show that’s behaving badly right now.

So, who’s the worst? Is it:

• Michael Quartermaine from General Hospital?
• Rick Forrester from The Bold and the Beautiful?
• Victor Newman from the Young & the Restless?
• Clyde Weston from Days of Our Lives?

Let’s take a look at what these bad boys have been up to…

General Hospital – Michael Quartermaine
Ever since Michael took that bullet to the head in place of adoptive dad Sonny, he has not been right in the head. He woke up from his year-long coma furious at Carly and has had spurts of violence ever since. He bludgeoned Claudia Zacchara to death (not that she didn’t have it coming – but that was pretty gruesome).

When Michael was sent to Pentonville for killing Claudia, his life took an even worse turn when fellow inmate Carter raped him. This left him angrier than ever. Last year, he killed again, shooting a thug named Kobe. He also stole Kiki Jerome away from his brother Morgan. The death of his bio-dad turned Michael even darker and once he found out Sonny had shot AJ and Carly had helped cover it up, he was through with his parents and turned 100% Quartermaine.

Most recently, Michael declared all out war on his adoptive dad Sonny and sued him for custody of baby Avery after baby mama Ava Jerome was believed to have died. To ensure he won custody, Michael rigged a change in judges to Judge Walter, the guy his grandma Monica Q is involved with. To ice the revenge cake, Michael has begun calling baby Avery Jerome Corinthos “AJ” to honor his dead bio dad and irritate Sonny.

The Bold and the Beautiful – Rick Forrester
Rick Forrester is another young man who has a tormented back story. After years of bullying, he turned violent himself. He shot his mom’s fiancee but avoided punishment. He drank and partied hard then as a young adult, embarked on a series of disastrous relationships and custody battles before he left town for a few years, hanging out in Europe.

When he came back to town, Rick set himself up against his family then had an affair with his would-be niece then when that fell apart, took up with her mother Taylor. But when Taylor dumped him in favor of his big brother Ridge Forrester, Rick went ballistic and blamed his brother for all the ills in his life, vowing revenge. A fight with Ridge left him paralyzed and hating Ridge even more. To thwart Ridge, he then gave Forrester designs to Jackie Marone.

He continued to play paralyzed even though he’d recovered to get control of the family business, cheated on wife Caroline with his former honey bun Maya and went so far as to take shoot at brother Ridge while he was with Rick’s wife Caroline. Most recently, he’s taken up with Maya for good and thrown over his wife Caroline after flaunting his cheating. He’s currently embroiled in yet another power play with Ridge for control over Forrester Creations.

The Young & the Restless – Victor Newman
You know a guy is bad when someone writes a book about you titled “Ruthless.” Growing up in an orphanage left Victor with emotional scars and determined to make something great of himself – at all costs. He imprisoned Michael, the man his first wife Julia cheated with, and was never held accountable. When he dumped a pregnant Ashley to get back with Nikki, she had an abortion and went crazy at his callousness.

In addition to being ruthless in love, Victor has always been ruthless at business, proven by his coup attempts to take over Jabot Cosmetics and blackmail shenanigans to try and run Jabot out of business. Victor has proven that family is no defense against his machinations and has punished his children ferociously when they stepped out of line. He’s been convicted of bribery and faked his own death.

Victor has blackmailed, spied, cheated and extorted (and did all those things to people he loved). He stood by callously and watched Skye fall to her death. Those he hated suffered much worse at his hands. Most recently, Victor double crossed Kelly and has once again been plotting against Jack Abbott on the heels of agreeing to a friendlier relationship and business truce. And that was just after saving Jack’s life. Did he save him just to resume tormenting him?

Days of Our Lives – Clyde Weston
This Salem drug runner is a real piece of work. Clyde is a child abuser, rapist, blackmailer and attempted murderer. Kate Roberts was the one that discovered Clyde when she found a link between Jordan and Ben and began digging into their background. But you can’t imagine for a moment that anyone in Salem thanks her for bringing Jordan and Ben’s erstwhile and ne’er do well father to town. Kate told Clyde where to find his kids who had run away to escape his abuse.

Once he gets to Salem, Clyde goes looking for his kids who are horrified to see the man who verbally, physically and emotionally abused them. To add insult to all that injury, Clyde tells them they owe him. He demands that Ben rekindle their father-son relationship but doesn’t care about Jordan. Clyde then starts drug trafficking and has EJ DiMera killed over their illicit business dealings. He also blackmailed Jordan by telling her that she was the one who killed her mother and that he’d rat her out to Ben if she didn’t stay out of his way.

Clyde pursued Kate until she caved in and began to date him. Later, Clyde plotted against Victor after Damon tried to murder Clyde. He survived and tried to kill Sonny which got Victor back under control. Jordan ends up leaving town to get away from Clyde. Kate is made even more rotten by her association with Clyde and she plots against Stefano. Clyde is like poison in the water and everything he touches turns evil.
