Weekly Soap Ratings August 24-28, 2015: General Hospital Has Excellent Week – See Ratings Here!

Good news soap fans, it looks like “General Hospital” finally had an excellent week, Soap Opera Digest reported on Friday. “Young and the Restless” and “Bold and the Beautiful” continued to lose viewers overall. So how does your favorite soap stack up in the weekly ratings (August 24-28)? Let’s explore by dissecting the rating demographics.

“Young and the Restless” was down 43,000 total viewer’s previous week; however, was up almost 250,000 from last year. The show lost 33,000 viewers in one of the biggest key demographics, women 18-49 viewers. “Young and the Restless” saw a loss in viewers in each demographic. They are still getting more viewers than any other soap at an average of four million per episode.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” ratings are almost identical to “Y&R.” They lost 41,000 total viewers. They are down 24,000 viewers in the key demographic of women 1849. “B&B” still held on to nearly the same overall Nielsen rating as last week. The show averaged just over three million views per episode.

“Days of Our Lives” has had a great couple week. Fans have been talking about how good the show is compared to the other daytime dramas. The weekly ratings, however, do not reflect a big positive change. The show still lost 12,000 total viewers for the week and down over 6,000 in the women 18-49 demographic. The viewer per day is much lower than the CBS daytime soaps at just over two million per episode. The only good news is the show had a huge increase since last year, clocking in at 121,000.

“General Hospital” has had three weeks of the lowest ratings in a very long time. If they continued the trend, it would have been a full month of low ratings. Good news “GH” fans, they increased their ratings and ended the week on a happy note. The show had an increase of 62,000 this week. And, all 62,000 was in the key demographic of women 18-49. The total viewer per episode was nearly three million per day. It was a great week for “GH.”

Are you surprised by the ratings this week? Do you think “GH” will continue to see an increase of ratings next week?
