Weekly Soap Ratings Aug 31-Sept 4, 2015: General Hospital Has Second Excellent Week – See Ratings Here!

The weekly (August 31- September 4) soap opera ratings are in; it looks like “General Hospital” is up for the second week in a row. Fans were worried for a while about the lack of ratings, but it looks like the viewers are tuning in once again. The best part of the ratings is all four soap opera ratings either improved or stayed the same in key demos. So how did your favorite soap do?

Young and the Restless

“Young and the Restless” had an increase in overall viewer this week, gaining over 59,000. And that’s not all; the show increased the TOTAL viewers by 165,000 from last year. The bad news came when looking at the 18-34 demographic, losing 17,000 viewers- 92,000 from last year. The show had almost five million viewers per day. The ratings look almost identical to last week’s for “Y&R.”

General Hospital

“General Hospital” had the best week of all the daytime dramas. It experienced a jump in viewers for the second week in a row, not too bad for a soap many thoughts was slowly dying. The total viewers jumped 81,000 viewers this week; however, is down 268,000 viewers from last year. In the key demographic women 18-34, “GH” was up 6,000 viewers this week- but down 170,000 viewers from last week. Each day, over two million viewers tuned in to see what happened next in Port Charles. Overall, “GH” had a great week, and fans look forward to seeing a change next week.

Bold and the Beautiful

“B&B” ratings are very confusing. They don’t seem consistent but are steady. The daytime drama lost 18,000 viewers this week but are up over 100,000 viewers from last year. In the key demographic of women 18-34, “B&B” is down 5,000 viewers from last week- and over 50,000 viewers from last year. The ratings are about the same from the previous week’s numbers.

Days of Our Lives

Many fans claim “Days” is the best soap on TV right now; however, the ratings are not reflecting that just yet. In total viewers, the soap lost 79,000- and 194,000 viewers since last year. In the key demographic of women 18-34, the soap losing 8,000 viewers this week- and 25,000 from last year. The show saw a small increase in rating numbers, and the show expects it to continue to rise.

In order to improve your favorite soap’s ratings, make sure you watch the show while it is being aired or through the network’s website. Additionally, if you buy an episode from Amazon or YouTube, it will count towards the weekly ratings. Each of the four soaps had a decent week. Soap Opera Spy will report next week’s ratings as soon as they are available.
