Tyra Banks To Host 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards

Two-time Emmy winner Tyra Banks is no stranger to the Emmy stage, and now she will be hosting the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, on Sunday April 26, 2015.

The Daytime Emmy Awards honors everything from soap opera’s, talk show’s, game show’s, and all of your favorite programs on daytime television.

The supermodel turned television personality spoke with EW and tells them “I’m really excited…I’m looking forward to pushing the envelope and being fun and irreverent, but also reverential and giving respect where it is due.”

Tyra Banks is just like the rest of us too, adding “I think of the award shows like the Oscars, the Grammys, the VMAs, The MTV Movie Awards that I’ve produced from my couch and thought, ‘They should do this, They should do that.” We all have been that person during an award show wishing that something had been done differently. Now we have Tyra Banks ready to host the night how she sees fit, representing for all of us “at home producers.”

Bob Maura, President of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, added, “With Tyra Banks as our host, all the pieces are falling into place for what I believe will be a truly memorable night on the legendary Warner Bros. Studios lot…they will also have one of television’s most beloved performers, Betty White, as she’s honored for her extraordinary career. Somebody pinch me!”

The 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will air Sunday, April 26 at 8.pm. on Pop. Be sure to watch and see if all of your favorite go home with an award!
