‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Interview: Scott Elrod, Successful Businessman – Doubles With Acting

“The Young and the Restless” (Y&R) actor Scott Elrod (Joe Clarke) has no desire to give up the business interests he has outside of acting. Did you know he owns a vehicle storage and management company? Before you think Elrod’s company is small potatoes compared to acting on the number one daytime drama listen to what it’s all about!

“I have a vehicle storage and management company where we take care of people’s collections of cars,” Elrod told Soaps In Depth in a recent interview. Basically the business is there for people who have more cars than places to put them. There are whole collections of cars located at Scott’s huge building just outside Los Angeles. He has a full-time staff and right now they have a lot of cars in their care.

Scott Elrod’s company keeps him very busy – he and his staff take care of keeping these prized possessions in excellent working condition and making sure nothing happens to these car collections. “Right now we have probably 60 cars that we take care of and manage the whole process for them.” But don’t worry “Y&R” fans – Scott isn’t giving up acting any time soon – that’s why he has a full-time staff at his business headquarters. But how did he get into the business of car storage? “I just have a passion for cars. And I need more tax deductions!”

“The Young and the Restless” fans would like to see more of Joe Clarke on their favorite soap opera but it’s nice to hear that he is successful business man in addition to being a great actor. We wonder what kinds of cars Scott Elrod has stored at his facility? Sounds as if there must be some impressive collections that need storage and maintenance! But Elrod isn’t spilling the beans on any of the vehicles – or the people with whom he does business.
