“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Wednesday, October 21, tease that Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) will testify for Adam (Justin Hartley). Later, Adam will get on the stand to explain his own actions. Meanwhile, Sharon (Sharon Case) and Patty (Stacy Haiduk) will spar as Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane (Daniel Goddard) patch things up.
At the athletic club, Ashley (Eileen Davidson) sees Jack (Peter Bergman) and gives him a hard time about helping Adam. Ashley asks Jack who he’ll be sitting beside at the trial: Billy (Burgess Jenkins) or the scum who killed Delia (Sophie Pollono)? Over at the bar, Cane tells his troubles to Colin (Tristan Rogers), who insists that he wasn’t the one who framed him. Cane says he knows, but he’s still in a jam with Lily. Colin suggests that they can sort this mess out.

Everyone panics when Adam is a little late, but he straggles in the courthouse eventually. The trial gets underway and Christine (Laralee Bell) makes her opening statement. Michael (Christian LeBlanc) is up next. Michael lays out his case and indicates that Adam didn’t intend to kill Delia. In fact, Adam didn’t even know he did it at the time. Chelsea takes the stand and is questioned by Christine. Chelsea discusses Adam’s confession tape. Afterwards, Michael takes his turn. Chelsea describes how caring and sensitive Adam is. Chelsea admits that she loves Adam and recounts all the positive things he’s done. That includes Adam’s recent delivery of Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) baby.
During the courtroom recess, Billy hints to Jack that he’s confident Adam will be sent to prison. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) talks to Victor (Eric Braeden) about his offer to help Adam run. Nikki implies that it must mean Victor cares about his son. Nearby, Esther (Kate Linder) voices her displeasure at the way Chelsea defended that “monster” on the stand.

Once court is back in session, Michael tells the judge that Adam wants to testify. The judge permits it and Christine grills Adam. Adam is forced to admit he was solely responsible for Delia’s death and he tried to cover up the hit-and-run. Michael questions Adam about what happened that night. Adam says it was dark and he swerved when he saw a shadow. Adam saw the dog, but had no idea he’d hit Delia. The testimony shifts to the cover-up. Adam insists that he wanted to come forward, but he had so much to lose. Adam declares that he was desperate to hang onto his son, but he lost him anyway.
As Adam continues answering questions on the stand, he expresses remorse for how he handled everything. Adam says he would turn himself in immediately if he could do it all over again. That way he’d be a man his son could be proud of. Adam tells Chelsea and Billy that he’s so sorry.
Other “Young and the Restless” spoilers reveal that things are getting even more bizarre at Fairview. Dr. Anderson (Elizabeth Bogush) gives Sharon drugs and tells her she’s starting to show. Soon after, Patty promises Dr. Anderson that she’ll steer clear of Sharon. Patty begs not to be locked up again. Later, Patty goes to see Sharon, who’s hallucinating. Sharon looks in the mirror and believes she has a large baby bump.
Patty insists Sharon doesn’t look pregnant at all and hints that maybe there was mistake with the blood test. Sharon is adamant that she’ll need maternity clothes soon. Patty replies that Dylan (Steve Burton) or Paul (Doug Davidson) could bring some outfits. Sharon says she’s not taking any visitors. Patty tries to warn her that something fishy is going on with Dr. Anderson. Sharon won’t listen to any of it. They get into a scuffle and Sharon flings Patty into the wall. Patty ends up unconscious.
At Crimson Lights, Lily argues with Dylan about how he made Cane seem guilty. Dylan points out that there’s plenty of evidence against Cane. Lily meets up with Cane at the athletic club and they apologize to each other. They agree that they should’ve handled the situation differently. Lily thinks they can figure out who set Cane up.
Meanwhile, Dr. Anderson finds Dylan and shows him Sharon’s signed forms. Dylan doesn’t understand why Sharon wouldn’t want to see him, especially since she’s expecting. Dr. Anderson insists that Sharon is on track and Dylan just needs to be patient. On the patio, Dr. Anderson makes a call to the hospital. The evil doc gets the news that Sage has been released and asks about the condition of her baby. Hmm…it sounds like Dr. Anderson has big plans. Y&R rumors suggest that major drama is in Sharon’s future. Stick with the CBS soap for updates on Dr. Anderson’s plot.
