‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers: Neil Going Off The Deep End – Headed To Fairview To Meet Patty?

“Young and the Restless” spoilers are showing fans a very disturbed and troubled Neil Winters [Kristoff St. John]. Neil has had his times of losing his marbles in the past, but this time he has really gone off the deep end. Something in him snapped when he found out his then-wife, Hilary [Mishael Morgan] was sleeping with his adopted son, Devon [Bryton James]. He hasn’t been the same since the plane crash when it all came out about the affair.

Neil approaches Hilary’s bedside at the boathouse. He tells her he doesn’t understand why she is still sick. He screams at her that the doctor on the island said she’d be okay, but she isn’t. He was franticly touching her arm, checking for her vital signs and shaking her to wake up. He tells her he tried to save her, and now Devon will never forgive him. The phone rings and he answers calmly, “Devon, what’s wrong?” He asks him to meet him at Chancellor Park.

Neil tried to tell Devon that he was responsible for her disappearance. Devon cannot fathom that his father would hurt her. He tells him, “I know you feel responsible, but you didn’t do this. Someone else did it, and I am going to find them and hurt them.” Neil tried to interrupt him, but he refused to listen. He asked him about stealing the drugs from the hospital. He questioned his dad and pondered if he was using again. He told him, “If you need help, we can get it.”

At the coffeehouse, Dylan [Steve Burton] meets the hooker who framed Devon at the bachelor party. She confirmed what he already knew- she didn’t sleep with Devon, and she was paid extra to say she did. She revealed there was a video that made it look like they had sex, but it was a lie. He asked her who would want to film such a video. She replied, “The man with the big bucks.” She glared at Colin [Tristan Rogers] across the room.

Dylan approached Colin revealing what the hooker said to him. Colin tells him that he had no reason to want to come in between the happy couple. He was doing as he was asked. The real person responsible for Hilary’s disappearance is someone with an ax to grind Dylan immediately knew who was at fault –Neil. Dylan found Neil at the Park sitting thinking about his next move. He tells him, “I need to speak to you about what Colin just shared with me.” He agreed to hear him out, but Neil looked pretty uncomfortable.

Is it possible for the writers to redeem Neil? He could have lost it momentarily after learning of the affair, then engagement. He tried to help her after she fell, and in his mind, he may have believed he was helping her. Neil has always been a good guy, but keeping Hilary away from Devon- then lying to him over and over- seems unforgivable. Will Neil be forgiven? Is he earning a one-way ticket to Fairview with his roommates Patty [Stacy Haiduk] and Sharon [Sharon Case]?
