‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) RUMORS: Is Former ‘Day of Our Lives’ Chrishell Strause headed to Genoa City?

“Days of Our Loves” star Chrishell Strause – (ex- Jordan Ridgeway) – may be headed for “The Young and the Restless.” Chrishell just happens to be Justin Hartley’s (Adam Newman/Gabe Bingham) real life girlfriend. Could a storyline be in the works to bring the two together on “Y&R”? Justin may be very happy to have his real life lady love on set – perhaps as a rival for Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) affection?

Chrishell is no stranger to soap operas. From 2005 until 2011 she portrayed Amanda Dillion on ABC’s “All My Children”. Chrishell remained with “AMC” right up until the final episode aired in September 2011.

Is there a place for her at “Y&R” and if so, would she be open to coming on board? In this week’s Soap Operas in Depth, the actress opened up in an interview, saying,  “I’m a huge fan of daytime. Where would I be without it? I’m so grateful for everything I’ve experienced, so yeah!” Add to this Chrishell is besties with “Y&R”‘s casting director Judy Blye Wilson and it makes sense that she could end up on the show.

Writing a character for Chrishell Strause on “The Young and the Restless” could open up several possible storylines. Could she be related to Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton) in some way? A few rumors indicate that Dylan just may have a “deep dark secret” that he is keeping. Other rumors have hinted that Dr. Ben “Stitch” Rayburn’s (Sean Carrigan) Jenna Rayburn is headed back to town. Actress Stephanie Lemelin made a brief stop in Genoa City as Jenna this past summer – but fans haven’t seen her since. If Jenna were return to Genoa City she may give Abby a run for her money when it comes to Stitch’s affections?

“The Young and the Restless” writers could reach far back into the soap opera’s rich history to find other female residents of Genoa City that could use a recast. Paul Williams’s (Doug Davidson) daughter Heather has been living in Georgia with Phyllis Abbott’s (Gina Tognoni) son Daniel and his daughter Lucy. Katherine Chancellor’s (late Jeanne Cooper) married and resides in Washington D.C. with JT – ex-husband of Victoria Newman.
