‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) News: Josh Morrow Moonlighting As A Movie Star In “Golden Shoes”

Millions of “The Young and the Restless” (Y&R) viewers tune in each day to see Josh Morrow (Nick Newman) work his daytime magic. But the actor occasionally takes time off to focus on other projects – including the movie “Golden Shoes” with former co-star Eric Roberts (ex-Vance Abrams). The film centers on an eight-year-old boy – Christian Larou – and his dream of becoming a famous soccer player. But he has challenges he must face in order to do so. Josh stars as Christian’s father George Larou.

But don’t expect Josh to abandon “The Young and the Restless” in favor of pursuing a career on the big screen – he’s not going anywhere. In an interview with Soaps In Depth Morrow said, “I have a family to take care of, and this show allows me to provide for them.” Josh puts “The Young and the Restless” as a top priority in his career, but he’s happy that the show allows him some flexibility to pursue outside projects.

There are many other projects Josh wishes he could pursue – if he had even more flexibility in his schedule. “I’m an actor by nature, and I see projects all the time that I’d like to have been involved in. I wish we had more flexibility at times to go off and do stuff.” Fans shouldn’t think that the actor is ungrateful for his daytime gig. “I lead a blessed, fortunate life. I love my job!” The movie “Golden Shoes” will give “Y&R” fans a chance to see Josh Morrow flex his acting muscles. A select screening of the film takes place tonight – September 24 – in Detroit.
