Many people have asked what the appeal of Esther is to launch her into being a popular fan favorite. Kate insisted that one of the most enduring qualities of Esther is people can relate to her. She worries about money, working, and the everyday problems that many of the “Y&R” fans face. She is also an underdog. Good things rarely happen to her, and she never finds a hunk to call her own. When a man pays attention to her, it is usually because he is using her.
Kate told SID that Esther is amusing, and that appeals to many people. She gets funny lines, and people respond to her. She wasn’t expecting fans to love the idea of her working at Crimson Lights as much as they did. She was shocked at the level of supports both in person and online she received.
