Viewers of “Y&R” may not know this, but Burgess has a passion for writing and directing movies. He also enjoys producing, but not nearly as much as writing and directing the actor revealed in an interview in the most recent issue of Soaps In Depth. Burgess says that he is very selective about what he chooses to produce – it needs to be a project that is near and dear to him. “I don’t think my heart would be in producing something that didn’t mean a lot to me.”
But Jenkins does say that being the producer of a film or television show is the best job to gain a better understanding of the scope of the entertainment industry. The actor candidly reveals, “Sitting in the producers chair has taught me more than I could possibly have imagined.” Producing has provided Burgess with an appreciation for the role each and every actor and crew member plays in creating the finished product.

Now that Burgess Jenkins is exiting his role as Billy Abbott on “The Young and the Restless” he’ll have more time for his current projects. Burgess is listed as a co-producer and star of the movie “StaleMate” which does not yet have a release date. Also on the list of Jenkins work for 2015 is the movie “Seven Days ‘Till Midnight” which went into production in May 2015.
