‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Workplace Drama! Melissa Ordway Hints That Abby’s Power Trip ‘Could Go South Very Fast’

“The Young and the Restless” spoilers reveal that Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) power trip is just beginning. It seems Abby is the only one who believes Gabriel (Justin Hartley) made the right decision when he made her COO of Newman-Abbott. Victoria (Amelia Heinle) certainly isn’t pleased that Abby has taken over her position. Billy (Burgess Jenkins) doesn’t have much faith in Abby either. Even Abby’s own mother, Ashley (Eileen Davidson), doesn’t buy that Abby has what it takes to be a success. In a new “Young and the Restless” interview with CBS Soaps In Depth, Melissa Ordway gave Y&R fans some insight into what her character is feeling and dropped some hints about what might lie ahead.

“Abby’s not used to having a lot of control or power and doesn’t like everyone to be upset with her,” Ordway said. Nevertheless, Abby plans on using this as a chance to prove all the naysayers wrong. Ordway noted that Abby “wants everybody to know that she’s smart enough and can run the company just like Victoria!”

Naturally, all that power could go to Abby’s head. When it comes to being ordered around, Ordway made it clear that “No one is happy about THAT!” A few feathers will get ruffled as Abby’s subordinates try to make peace with the situation. Kyle (Lachlan Buchanan) will certainly speak his mind when he feels he’s becoming Abby’s “errand boy.”

Of course, there’s also the issue of who put Abby in charge in the first place. No one trusts Gabriel right now and they’re wondering what’s up with his latest move. “I think they don’t want her to do a good job because that would mean Gabe did something right,” Ordway said. Then again, there’s always the possibility that their suspicions are justified. Ordway mentioned that “you can definitely see some of Victor (Eric Braeden)” in Abby.

Will Abby repeat some of Victor’s mistakes as she tries to rise to the challenge? “She’s definitely walking that line. It could go south very fast,” Ordway said. The rumors say that Abby’s about to make some big updates to the way she does business. Stick with “The Young and the Restless” to see if Abby will succeed at any cost.
