‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) POLL: Mariah Was Devastated Not To Be Invited To Nick’s Wedding – Was She Right to be Upset? VOTE!

“The Young and the Restless” had an eventful couple of days. First, the cabin murder was solved, and now Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is married to Sage (Kelly Sullivan). Sage and Nick decided to have a quiet low key wedding, only inviting Nick’s children. There’s only one problem, he didn’t invite Mariah (Camryn Grimes) to the wedding.

Nick told Mariah when he found out she was Cassie’s twin sister she has a family now. He accepted her as one of his children and wanted her to know what it was like to have a real family. Mariah got used to feeling secure in her relationship with her mother, Sharon (Sharon Case) and him. When Sharon and Nick separated, he seemed to include her as one of his children.

Nick and Sage decided they were going to get married in Chancellor Park. They invited his children, and Kyle was asked to officiate. After the wedding, Summer(Hunter King) and Kyle (Lachlan Buchanan) told Kevin (Greg Rikaart) that Marissa (Sofia Pernas) was at the wedding. Kevin told them not to tell Mariah because she was struggling with feeling left out. After all, she thought she was one of “Nick’s” children.

When Nick found Mariah after talking to Helen Copeland (Karina Logue) and Grace Turner (Jennifer Gareis), he looked at her and saw his daughter, Cassie. She corrected him and said, “Your adopted daughter.” He said that she was always his daughter, and I am going to take you home when you are ready. After he broke off his engagement with Sharon, he seemed to sever ties with Mariah as well. It is perfectly understandable why Mariah would feel upset that no one invited her to his wedding.

Mariah has a hard exterior and tries to pretend nothing bothers her. She is softening up and learning it is okay to feel sad, mad or upset with those you love. The growing bond she has with her mother, Sharon has helped them both greatly.
