‘The Young and the Restless’ Poll: Which Actor Is Your Favorite Adam Newman – Michael Muhney or Justin Hartley?

Adam Newman is without doubt THE “The Young and the Restless” character who brings out the largest fan response and has the most complex character on “Y&R.” When fan favorite Michael Muhney, who played Adam Newman briliantly for years, was let go from “The Young and the Restless” by Jill Farren Phelps amid unfounded rumors in 2013 “Y&R” fans went insane. They immediately started a campaign to get Michael back and even hired a plane to fly over the CBS’s offices with the sign, “TEAM MUHNEY SUPPORTS MICHAEL MUHNEY!” to make sure TPTB at “YR” knew how they felt.

Despite the protests, backlash and flagging ratings TPTB at “Y&R” would not relent and issued a casting call in March 2014 for a new Adam. In August 2014 CBS announced they had hired ex-Passions and Mistress start Justin Harley to take over the role. Regardless of how much Muhney was loved nobody can deny that Justin has taken on the role of Adam Newman masterfully – and let’s never forget that Justin is no way to blame for ending Michael’s career at “Y&R.”
