‘The Young And The Restless’ Poll: Possible Billy Abbott Recasts – Jason Thompson, Winsor Harmon, James Scott, And More – VOTE NOW!

‘Y&R’ spoilers recently confirmed that Burgess Jenkins is OUT,his character Billy Abbott will be exiting some time in the near future.  Considering the fact that Billy Abbott is a key player in Genoa City and involved in multiple different storylines, TPTB really have no choice but to recast the role.  Billy might temporarily leave Genoa City, but at some point they are going to have to bring him back.

“The Young and the Restless” casting director is in the position to cast the role of Billy Abbott- again. Burgess Jenkins shocked fans with the announcement that he will not be signing a new contract, and will exit the role by the first of the year. So, when he leaves the role- who could possibly fill the role and make the role theirs, for at least a few years? Jason Thompson

Jason Thompson has been named the favorite pick for CBS for the role recast, according to CBS Soaps in Depth. Many fans are worried that he may be the wrong actor for the role. The reasons they cited were his hair color to his acting being limited and doubted he pulled off a sarcastic and playful Billy Abbott. Burgess Jenkins is a talented actor, and he struggled to completely pull off the role of Billy in almost every storyline.

David Tom

David Tom has portrayed Billy twice before. Originally, he portrayed Billy in his younger days, leaving the role when Billy Miller was cast. He came back after Miller left the role, but TPTB thought he was too young to pull off the role. Many fans loved him as Billy because he gave him a young and carefree image, something that Burgess has trouble pulling off.  Some ‘Y&R‘ fans complained that he was “too young” the last time he was thrown in the role – a year has passed, so maybe he has a few more wrinkles?

Winsor Harmon III

Winsor Harmon III recently announced that he would not return as Thorne on “B&B.” Immediately after, fans started to speculate that he would make the perfect Billy. He is blonde, playful looking, and would fit in perfectly with the Abbotts. Harmon is an extremely talented seasoned soap opera actor who could pull off the role.  It seems like ‘B&B’ didn’t fully utilize him the last few years – which was a shame, on ‘Y&R’ he would be sure to get a ton of screen time.

James Scott

James Scott would make a great Billy. He is best known for his role on “Days of Our Lives” as EJ DiMera. He was written off the show a little over a year ago and has stated he doesn’t have ‘time’ for daytime television. It is unlikely he could be swayed to come to “Y&R’ as Billy, but fans can pray. Not only is the actor incredibly handsome, but he has impeccable acting skills.

Brian Gaskill

Brian Gaskill is a seasoned soap vet that can handle any role he steps in. He fits the look of the Abbott family and seems to be more available than some other the other favorite picks for the role. He can pull off a sarcastic and playful look, and could look like a ladies’ man- if need be. As a bonus, he would look adorable with Amelia Heinle.
