‘The Young and the Restless’ POLL: Can Y&R Redeem Victor Once His Involvement With Marco Is Revealed?

“Young and the Restless” fans thought the show could never redeem Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). He brought a South American drug lord named Marco (Peter Bergman) who just happened to look exactly like Jack Abbott to Genoa City, placing him in direct contact with his granddaughter, Summer (Hunter King). Marco turned the whole city upside down- leading up to the murder of three innocent people, including his grandchildren’s husband and fiancé. Is it possible that Victor can be redeemed after bringing Marco into town?

Even though Victor had a hand in bringing Marco into town, he contended that he acted alone in the murders and corporate misconduct. He tried to claim that his hands were clean in it all. At first, his family was pretty upset about it all- especially Phyllis Abbott (Gina Tognoni). She thought Marco was Jack and she felt Victor in allowing this imposter to pose as Jack was equal to him having a hand in raping her. She was right, for the most part. As the months have gone by, everyone seems less angry. They are seeing that Victor didn’t mean to hurt anyone, exactly.

Recently, Sage (Kelly Sullivan) because convinced that Victor was going to ‘steal’ her unborn child from her. Her fear has paralyzed her and affected her relationship with her mother and father in law. Her irrational fear seems to be stemming from her keeping dark secrets from her husband, Nick (Joshua Morrow). Once he finds out her level of deceit, Nick will toss her out and then sue her for custody of their child. It is speculated that Victor may be the one to uncover Sage’s lies and have to deliver the news to his family. Does it sound like a familiar storyline? It should, it is the same thing that happened with Sharon’s (SharonCase) paternity swap reveal.

Victor is known as the protector of his family. Often times, he is preserved as a jerk- but usually, he is 100% correct in his hunches about people. How will he feel when he learns that Gabriel is Adam (Justin Hartley) and unleashed Ian Ward (Ray Wise) into the city once again? Will he be able to save his family from Sage’s lies and Adam’s schemes? How do you think the show plans to redeem Victor Newman after Marco destroyed his family relationships?
