‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) News: Eric Braeden Strikes Down Rumors – NOT sending Roses, Candy OR Invitations To Dinner!

“The Young and the Restless” resident Machiavellian maestro Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) never lets anyone get away with anything – or damn near close to never. In real life the actor doesn’t let anyone get away with anything either – especially ridiculous rumors.

Eric Braeden sent out a tweet to fans that a rumor had come to his attention. He didn’t go into details about where the rumor – lie – started – Braeden simply addressed it in a humorous way. What did the tweet say? “It has come to my knowledge that someone is claiming I sent roses&candy&invitation 2 dinner!NOT SO! UNLESS I SUFFER FROM AMNESIA AGAIN! NOT!!!”

Twitter followers had a blast responding to the actor’s tweet! One fan called it a “wonderful fantasy” and another posted “ROTFLMAO! Poor EB..at first you are leaving Y&R…now this??? Life can suck sometimes to be you.”

The man who has portrayed Victor Newman for 35 years spent a little time trading light-hearted tweets with fans. An especially humorous fan tweeted, “OH NO !!! YOUR CHEATING ON ME!!! (hahaha).” Eric’s reply was as equally entertaining, “hahahahaha! You know, I never wanted you to find out….Damn!!!”

We have no idea where – or when – this claim of roses and candy and dinner with Mr. Braeden came from – but we would like to know! Maybe a fan took the “The Young and the Restless” contest – “Win a phone call if you can guess who Victor is talking to in the confessional” – a little too far?

Or maybe a participant in Eric’s “Guess how many times Victor & Nikki spilt & reconciled” contest misunderstood? On August 31 Braeden tweeted that the person who guessed correctly how many times Victor and Nikki have split and reconciled would receive a phone call from him. Well, whomever got that phone call seems to think there was more to it than that! Or, someone who DIDN’T win is spreading lies. Or – could just be someone trying to incite an argument with the accomplished actor.

Victor Newman may have romanced many women in his time, but Eric Braeden has been happily married to his wife Dale since 1966. There may have been an occasion or two when he sent flowers or candy to a woman other than his wife – but we’re betting that no one but Dale has received romantic gifts from Eric in 48 years. No amnesia here! You got that!?
