“The Young and the Restless” actor Sean Carrigan (Dr. Ben “Stitch” Rayburn) shared exciting news with fans via Twitter on December 5. The #1 daytime drama recently had its biggest audience since 2010.
The news shouldn’t be any surprise to “Y&R” fans – there have been a lot of exciting story’s to tune in for all November long. It doesn’t look like the great storylines are going to stop either. “The Young and the Restless” averaged 4.91m which is up +1% from a year ago and its largest November sweep audience since 2010 – as Carrigan happily shared with fans.
“Y&R has its biggest audience since 2010… Congrats to our amazing Producers, Writers, Directors, Cast & Crew,” Sean tweeted.
The cast, crew, writers, directors and actors also have “The Young and the Restless” fans to thank for the biggest audience since 2010. Fans have hung in there through difficult recasts and a few slow and/or uncomfortable storylines. Diehard “Y&R” fans have stuck with their favorite soap opera through thick and thin. A thank you should also go out to new fans who followed Steve Burton and Kelly Sullivan over from “General Hospital.”
Fans were as excited with the news about the biggest “The Young and the Restless” audience in five years, too. Lots of congratulations were offered. “@SeanCarrigan of course you guys rock!!!!!!!! Best soap opera out there for me!” one fan replied to the good news. Another fan replied, “@SeanCarrigan it has a lot to do with you & @1SteveBurton being on the show, why I watch.”
Sean Carrigan recently extended his contract with “The Young and the Restless.” No details were released regarding the length of Sean’s contract – TPTB do not comment on actor’s contracts. But most likely “Y&R” fans will see Dr. Ben Rayburn around for at least two more years. Now all Stitch needs to do is decide to be with Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) or Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway). That triangle should keep “The Young and the Restless” interested – and perhaps the daytime drama will continue to draw bigger and bigger numbers.

Not the biggest audience since 2010. Largest audience in January 2014. How could they forget Michael Muhney and Billy Miller’s last month.
Actually, the last week Billy Miller & Michael Muhney were on Y&R had the largest audience for the show. Funny how the current cast forgets about that.
