‘The Young And The Restless’ News: Sean Carrigan Signs New Contract With ‘Y&R’ – Stitch Staying In Genoa City

“The Young and the Restless” Sean Carriagan has signed a new contract. The actor will remain on “Y&R” as Dr. Ben “Stitch” Rayburn. The good doctor survived the Top of the Tower explosion and is staying in Genoa City.

Carrigan explained that he intentionally kept the contract negotiations a secret until the Top of the Tower explosion storyline’s immediate threat had ended. Sean told CBS Soaps In Depth, “I didn’t want to ruin the surprise of the ending that Stitch does survive.” Now that “Y&R” fans know that Dr. Rayburn is sticking around Genoa City the big question on everyone’s mind is does Stitch end up with Abby (Melissa Ordway) or Ashley (Eileen Davidson)?

No specifics regarding Sean’s contract were addressed by the actor and TPTB do not comment on casting or actor contracts. It is believed that Sean Carrigan may have signed a two-year contract. Sean did say, “I’m happy to continue, happy that I re-signed. Happy that I’m in Genoa City for a little bit longer!”

Several weeks ago it was announced that Candis Cayne had been cast as Ben and Abby’s wedding planner and her first airdate will be December 2. It looks as if Abby and Stitch will at least begin planning their nuptials, but it is anybody’s guess if the couple will actually follow through.

Stitch has to deal with the feelings he has for Ashley and figure out which woman he really loves. Will Dr. Rayburn choose Abby or will he break her heart and choose Ashley? “The Young and the Restless” fans wonder how long it will take Abby to figure out that her mother and her fiancée shared a kiss during the Top of the Tower explosion.
