‘The Young And The Restless’ News: Melissa Ordway Discusses Abby Newman’s Wedding Dress, Marrying Stitch

The highly anticipated wedding will be aired next week on “The Young and the Restless.” Heiress Abby Newman [Melissa Ordway] and Dr. Ben ‘Stitch’ Rayburn [Sean Carrigan] will finally tie the knot, making their union official in the eyes of the law. The wedding almost seemed as if it wouldn’t happen, but alas it’s time for the happy couple to say the vows.

Abby looked flawless in her flowing beautiful gown. The dress was a mix of traditional and modern—Abby is set to have the wedding of her dreams. It seems like the wedding goes off without a hitch; however, there is little doubt the couple is not headed for a terrible breakup in the future.

Stitch seems to be ready to settle down and assume the role of family man. He thought Abby was the one he wanted by his side for the rest of his life; however, after sharing a moment with Abby’s mother, Ashley Abbott [Eileen Davidson], he’s not so sure of his true feelings for Abby. At Ashley’s request, he decided to marry her daughter.

Melissa Ordway, the actress who portrays Abby Newman, revealed taping the wedding scenes made for an extremely long day. Ordway explained, even though it meant longer days, she enjoyed taping the scenes since it meant everyone got to dress up in glamorous clothes.

Ordway said if she ever had another wedding ceremony [in real-life] that she would want all her cast members at the event. Sean Carrigan took the time to take a promotional picture with his on-screen bride, kissing her on the check.   Ordway dished to CBS Soaps In Depth, “Sean looked so handsome in his tux. On the show, we rarely see him in formal wear—he cleans up well.”

With all the characters on the show in attendance, will Stitch and Abby tie the knot next week on New Year’s Eve? One thing we can count on for the big day is lots of drama before the nuptials.
