‘The Young and the Restless’ News: Alyvia Alyn Lind ‘Coat of Many Colors’ Poster Released – Y&R’s Faith As Young Dolly Parton

'The Young and the Restless' News: Alyvia Alyn Lind 'Coat of Many Colors' Poster Released – Y&R's Faith As Young Dolly Parton'The Young and the Restless' News: Alyvia Alyn Lind 'Coat of Many Colors' Poster Released – Y&R's Faith As Young Dolly Parton“The Young and the Restless” (Y&R) Alyvia Alyn Lind (Faith Newman) was chosen to star as a young Dolly Parton for the NBC movie “Coat of Many Colors” and Dolly shared a photo of the first poster on her Facebook page. The singer and songwriter said that seeing the poster made her feel like a little girl again.

Alyvia is featured prominently in the poster – she is smiling, holding a guitar and wearing a patchwork coat. Portraying a young Dolly Parton will be a very different role from Faith Newman. The movie – which will air on Thursday, December 10 at 9 pm ET/8 pm CT on NBC – focuses on the early years of the Parton family when they were dirt poor and had to struggle and scrape to survive. Faith is a very different character – she has grown up with wealth and privilege – though she has had her fair share of heartbreak and pain.

“Coat of Many Colors” is a faith-based, family-oriented movie which will give viewers just a small peek at Dolly’s life when she was about 9-years-old and growing up in the Tennessee Great Smokey Mountains. According to the official description released by NBC, “Coat of Many Colors” “takes place inside the tight-knit Parton family as they struggle to overcome devastating tragedy and discover the healing power of a patchwork coat that helped make Parton who she is today.”

At the time of the young actress’s audition Dolly told Alyvia, “When I was watching your audition I thought I wish I had been that pretty, I wish I had been that smart. I really felt you and I thought well I would be so honored to have you play little Dolly so we are announcing today that you are it.”

We’re excited that Alyvia was chosen to star as a young Dolly. The movie has been highly promoted and the young actress will most likely get lots of attention – she may be offered more important roles on television and movies. We just hope that doesn’t pull her way from her role as Faith Newman on “Y&R” for too long. Will you watch “Coat of Many Colors” when it airs December 10 on NBC?
