“Young and the Restless” Alumni Nia Peeples broke the silence about her departure the show in 2010, according to CBS Soaps In Depth. She portrayed Karen – the woman who stood by Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) side after his wife Drucilla (Victoria Rowell) fell off the cliff and was presumed dead. She revealed she was not able to portray Karen in a compelling way, and it wasn’t her fault because it seemed like the producers and writing team just weren’t sure how they saw Karen.

Nia noted that in the two years, she appeared on the CBS soaps, there was so much turmoil behind the scenes. She was asked to play the part of Karen because she was known as an actress that was dedicated to her work and delivered powerful scenes. She said it was an extremely difficult job to do well. “There were three different executive producers during the short two years I claimed Y&R as my home, “she said.
Since leaving “Y&R,” Nia has kept busy. She has been involved with many TV shows and appearances. Her newest role is portraying Pam on ABC “Pretty Little Liars.” She just filmed her seventh season with the long-standing prime –time soap. This season, she explained that Pam would be coming to terms with her daughter’s sexuality, she noted, “Pam is a good person that cares about people, but ( laughs) she is extremely uptight.” She explains that Pam and her daughter, Emily will go through an emotional time this season.
