Once upon a time, Jensen portrayed Vicky and Marley on “Another World.” Ever since leaving the hit soap opera, she had told herself if the time came and another soap offered her a role, she’d jump on it. Imagine her surprise when the hottest soap on air called her and offered her an exciting role. She said that it was surprising to be offered the role, because she felt she was mostly retired. She said, “I was just kind of retired and was finished with that chapter in my life. I found a new beginning in my life, with my children grown now. I always wanted to do another soap, but no one was offering until now.”
She revealed that going back to act on a soap was not even in her mind at this point in her life. She’s older and felt like she was no longer desirable by the acting world. It looks like she was dead wrong- “The Young and the Restless” wanted her and felt she was the ideal actress for a special role. She said, “I was looking at other options to fulfill my life. I was not engrossed in the soap world at all. The Y&R cast is amazing. It is a remarkable show, and I am very much honored to be a small part of the show.”
Jensen worked with executive producer, Jill Farren Phelps when she did a small stint on “General Hospital.” She said she had not kept in touch with her over the years, but followed her career. She noted, “When you have a friend like Jill, you take her calls. She is a fantastic friend whom I know known for a very long time. I adore her. When I saw that she had called me, I was intrigued immediately. “

Jensen Buchanan revealed that she was nervous about embarking in a new adventure, especially after being absent so many years. She said she is going in with both feet, and will depend on her intuition to know which way to go. Jensen also revealed that she struggled with the fear of disappointing herself, her fans and most of all her good friend, Jill Farren Phelps. She ended the interview by saying, “I am humbled by the way her fans view her as a person and an actress. I recognize that many fans are loyal and will remember her on Another World and possibly General Hospital. If just one person is happy that I am back that makes me feel great.”
