‘The Young And The Restless’ Interview: Alyvia Alyn Lind Discusses Playing Faith Newman – Reveals Favorite ‘Y&R’ Co-Star

“The Young and the Restless” star, Alyvia Alyn Lind gave a short interview to Star Kidz on Christmas day. Lind revealed how she prepares for new roles, her favorite scene in “Revenge,” her preferred actors on “Y&R.”

Alyvia said she prepares for any role the same. First, she studies the character and watches interviews with the person she will portray [for example, Dolly Parton]. She tries to learn all she can about the role before filming. Lind recalls a scene when rehearsing on the set of ABC “Revenge.” In the scene, her mother [Jennifer Jason Leigh] was trying to drown her character, Amanda. The scene was hard to do, and she wanted to do it right.

Lind excitedly gushed when talking about Melody Thomas Scott. Alyvia said they call her Mel on the set. She explains that she gets her as an actor because she started acting as a small child. Kelly Sullivan is the other actor she just adores on the set. Alyvia said, “In a lot of scenes, I am supposed to hate her, and it’s so hard. After the scene, she hugs and kisses me. I have so much to learn from her.”

Alyvia noted that her favorite scene on “Y&R” was when Nick Newman [Joshua Morrow] told her that Christian died. Lind explained that scene was hard to master because it was full of raw emotion. “After we finished the scene, I hugged Josh.  We knew we nailed it, and it came out beautiful,” Lind said.

In her eight years, she has been a part of a few big prime-time shows, commercials, portrayed Dolly Parton, and has been Faith Newman for three years. It is definitely not a bad start to a very promising acting career.  Watch Alyvia Alyn Lind weekdays on “The Young and the Restless.”
