‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Casting News: Transgender Actress Candis Cayne Nabs Guest-Starring Role

“The Young and the Restless” (Y&R) spoilers include news that transgender actress Candis Cayne has been cast as wedding planner Nona Richards. She’ll be on hand to help Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Stitch Rayburn’s (Sean Carrigan) plan their nuptials. Cayne’s first airdate is expected to be on December 2.

In addition to being an advocate for the transgender community Candis is a successful actress – she starred as William Baldwin’s mistress on the primetime soap “Dirty Sexy Money,” and People got the scoop on the actress’s new gig. “”I am incredibly excited to join The Young and the Restless family! Everyone, from the casting team to the producers and network executives, have been so welcoming and gracious,” Candis Cayne gushed in the interview.

Despite rumors that Sean Carrigan’s contract with “The Young and the Restless” had not been renewed it seems that Stitch is sticking around town at least until December. What happens after that is anybody’s guess. “Y&R” fans may actually get a front row seat to Abby and Stitch’s wedding – or something could go terribly wrong – it usually does.

No matter what happens with Miss Newman and Dr. Rayburn it will be fun to have Candis on-board as wedding planner Nona Richards. We can’t wait to see what vision she has for Abby Newman’s big day. It has been a long time since “The Young and the Restless” has had an over-the-top wedding – too many have been rushed affairs in Chancellor Park as of late.

Hopefully Abby and Stitch will get the wedding of their dreams – and maybe Candis Cayne will stick around after all the pomp and circumstance of a Newman wedding is over. Nona could be an interesting love interest for any one of the bachelors in Genoa City.
