‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ VIDEO SHOCKER: Maya Tells Rick She’s Transgender – Karla Mosley Says Maya ‘Loves Him Enough to Risk Everything’

“The Bold and the Beautiful” spoilers tease that Maya (Karla Mosley) will come clean to Rick (Jacob Young) about her past. B&B viewers have been waiting for the big reveal for a long time and the exciting moment will finally arrive on Friday. Maya will open up about being born a boy and hope that Rick chooses to accept her for who she is now. People.com posted a sneak peek of Friday’s episode as well as an interview with Karla Mosley.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” is exploring new territory with this storyline and Mosley made it clear that she wanted to make her portrayal as authentic as possible. Mosley said she “was interested in how people felt in the moments before sharing and while sharing something so vulnerable.” Everyone is wondering how Rick will react to the news that Maya is transgender. Maya will try to break it to Rick as gently as possible. Based on the clip, it seems Rick will have a hard time grasping what Maya is trying to tell him. Maya will discuss that she had to come to Los Angeles because she came from a small town and there wasn’t a doctor there who could help her. Rick will realize that the estrogen pills he found play an important part in what Maya is trying to confess.

As tough as it is for Maya to tell the truth, she knows that letting Rick know about her history is for the best. Karla Mosley noted that Maya trusts Rick and “she loves him enough to risk everything—including letting down some of the walls she’s built up to protect herself—in order to be with him in a healthy way.” Now the question is: will Rick understand why Maya kept this secret from him? Rick is a firm believer in honesty and he may be hurt that Maya waited so long to tell him. However, Maya is disclosing this before she accepts Rick’s proposal and that should count for something.
