Nicole has told both Maya and Rick she would be honored to have their baby. Maya and Rick meet with Nicole and Maya tries to reassure Nicole and says, “If you have second thoughts you can bail at like up to the last second.”

Nicole knows that her boyfriend Zende is less than supportive about her decision to become a surrogate for Rick and Maya. A distraught Nicole tells Zende, (Rome Flynn) “If you say you absolutely can’t do it and we are over then maybe I wouldn’t”
Meanwhile, Maya and Rick are overjoyed by Nicole’s decision. Maya excitedly says to Rick, “I can’t wait to get everything in motion.”
Maya’s father Julius and her Mom Vivienne have been absent from town since Julius’ outburst at Maya and Rick’s wedding. Vivienne (Anna Maria Horsford) and Julius (Obba Babatundé) come to see Maya and Rick and Julius grudgingly extends an olive branch to Maya saying, “I’m willing to try to accept whomever you are.”
