“The Bold and the Beautiful” spoilers hint that fans will get a B&B history lesson, but we have to wonder: will that history been rewritten? The recent transgender twist has thrown viewers quite a curveball and we’re still trying to make sense of it all. Since we now know that Maya (Karla Mosley) used to be Nicole’s (Reign Edwards) brother, Myron, you can expect to hear an explanation for the character’s past. It’s not clear what B&B writers will keep and what they’ll throw out, but it seems they don’t intend on straying too far from Maya’s original backstory. Karla Mosley recently took to Twitter to acknowledge the apparent flaws in Maya’s storyline and try to settle down furious fans.
Mosley tweeted that she realizes “the main question is about the child” that Maya gave birth to and found a home for through Dayzee (Kristolyn Lloyd). Fortunately, it looks like we’ll get an answer to that question. Mosley noted that “Maya would speak about this…but we haven’t rewritten history.” While the writers won’t do a complete overhaul, it appears a few tweaks will have to be made.
The updates might annoy some “Bold and the Beautiful” viewers, but at least Maya will provide some form of an explanation. It’s better that just letting the errors slide as soaps typically do when they change a storyline. Mosley added that “We (myself included) have wanted to know about Maya’s past.” It seems Maya’s clarification may help give us a bit more “insight & connected dots.” The rumors say the transgender character will bring some great drama so stay tuned to see how it all plays out.
So B&B fans, what do you think about the news that Maya will talk about her past on an upcoming episode? How will “The Bold and the Beautiful” writers explain the baby Maya had? Do you think Maya fathered or perhaps stole the child? Do the adjustments to the storyline bother you or do you just accept history rewrites as a common part of soaps? Let us know what you think in the comments below and don’t forget to check Soap Opera Spy often for the latest “Bold and the Beautiful” spoilers, rumors, updates and news.
The adjustments don’t bother me…they can add a twist as to how Maya came to have a child! I love the leap the writers are taking! It’s soap operas! Supposed to shake it up & change it around!!
Well they are certainly shaking things up, this is ground-breaking for a Soap and I am interested to see how it plays out.
i feel this is a great turnaround. as for the child? Fathering it is best, maybe step-child? this transgender twist is no different than two men being in bed together so go for it. you have me in suspense. tyvm for making it exciting again. if you do read these do something about that pathetic brooke and hope. they are sickening with thier neediness. enough already.hope is blahhhh
OM Gosh You are right about the Brooke/Quinn stuff I cannot deal with it…..
Why r u guys doibg this mya and rick r so cut together this is messing everything up u guys need to fix and let mya lil sister be her daughter instead the on that died or another one she whil younger and her parent raise her as a lil. Something like that’s. This story line is wack..
I think Mr. Bell thinks this will bring him tons of readers in the LGBT community.
Whatever the story behind a transgender Maya, it will require more thought and understanding than I want to give to a soap opera. I didn’t like Maya and Rick anyway and now I can’t even watch it. B&B used to be keep my interests with Brooke and her many Forrester men but she is getting older and apparently the writers do not know how to keep us tuning in everyday. I have watched B&B since the first day it aired but I have watched my last show.
I understand your frustration but I have been watching how the story is unfolding and I am pleasantly surprised they are handling it realistically. I say give it a chance and if you don’t like you can tune out.
