“The Bold and the Beautiful” issued a casting call on September 18 according to Soap Opera Digest. The role, named Alisha, will be a contract role on the CBS daytime drama. The casting call caused some confusion at first, but CBS cleared up any confusion when they later clarified this would be an all new character, not a recast.
When the casting call was first released on Friday, fans panicked that the show was considering a recast for Nicole (Reign Edwards). The description of the character sounded so similar to her role; it wasn’t hard to jump to that conclusion. CBS clarified on Sunday the casting call by including that Alisha would likely be one of Nicole’s friends on screen.
The initial casting call stated that Alisha would be assertive, sexy, Midwestern and unsophisticated- and beautiful. She will be an African-American female age ranging from 18-21 years old. The soap realized they may have left out a few details after the fans panicked on social media. They revised the casting call to state, “Hispanic or Middle Eastern, sexy, Midwestern, unsophisticated and beautiful.” The age still remained the same, but they included she will share scenes with Nicole and a love interest to Zende (Rome Flynn). Filming will begin in October, according to the latest report.
It should be interesting to see who is cast for the role. Those interested in trying out for the part, the show asked that you fitted the description of the updated casting call, not the initial report. What a relief it was to hear that Nicole’s role is not being recast. It sure sent fans in a panic for a few hours.
