‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Bio: Ridge Forrester’s History Explained – Women He Has Loved and Left

On The Bold and the Beautiful the character of Ridge Forrester has been played by Ronn Moss from 1987 through mid September 2012, Lane Davies during a brief absences of Ronn Moss in 1992 and Thorsten Kaye from December 2013 to current.

Ridge is the eldest son of deceased Stephanie Forrester and step-son of Eric Forrester. Eric raised Ridge as his own son not knowing that Massimo Marone was his biological father until later in Ridge’s adult life. Ridge also has many siblings, he was raised along side Thorne, Felicia and Kristen Forrester. Half sister and brothers are Rick and Bridgett Forrester and Nick Marone. Adopted brother Marcus Walton Forrester. Ridge also had a son with Brooke, RJ.

The Forrester family has been in the Fashion Business since the onset of the show. Eric and Stephaine Forrester build the company from the bottom up. Ridge took after his dad Eric and was groomed from early on to head up Forrester Creations when his father stepped down. He is currently the head designer at Forrester. His designs have been featured all over the world and down may runways.

Ridge’s first love was Caroline Spencer. The two became engaged and started to plan their wedding. Caroline’s father was not particularly fond of Ridge. Mr. Spencer did not want his daughter married to a Forrester. He devised a plan to have a drunken Ridge be photographed with a woman in bed. The pictures were revealed right before the wedding and Caroline called it off.

Behind the scenes a girl named Brooke Logan worked at the Forrester home during big parties catered by her family’s business. One look at Ridge, and Brooke fell for him. Hearing that his wedding was canceled to Caroline, Brooke worked her magic and Ridge was soon falling for her. At the same time as Brooke was flirting with Ridge Brooke was also starting to have feelings for the head of Forrester, Eric.

Before long, Ridge talked Caroline into marriage again. This time the two lovers were wed. Heartbroken Brooke, set her sights on Eric. The two married and started a family of their own.

Unfortunately, Ridge and Caroline’s marriage ended suddenly. Caroline became ill with leukemia and died. A grieve stricken Ridge, took comfort in his “step-mommy” Brooke’s arms. The two had an affair, but Ridge was also getting emotional attached to one of Caroline’s doctors, Taylor Hayes.

Ridge and Taylor married shortly after. Their newfound happiness was short lived when Brooke announced she was pregnant with Ridge’s child. Brooke had a baby girl she named Bridget. Taylor and Ridge’s marriage was on rocky ground when Taylor was presumed dead in a plane accident. Ridge again, took comfort in Brooke’s arms.

Ridge and Brooke married after he interrupted Brooke’s wedding ceremony to Dr. James Warwick. Ridge and Brooke were starting their married life together when Taylor returned to LA alive. This meant that Ridge and Brooke’s marriage was null. Ridge had to decide between these two woman he was in love with. Ridge made his decision and chose Brooke. He and Taylor divorced.

It wasn’t long after, it was determined that the daughter that Ridge assumed was his, wasn’t. Bridget’s biological father was his dad Eric’s daughter. This meant Ridge and Bridget were half siblings. This was too much for Ridge to handle. He and Brooke went their separate ways.

Brooke was married to Grant, another designer at Forrester Creations. But when Grant was shot, Ridge was accused of the shooting and was sent to prison. When Ridge got out on parole, Brooke told Ridge she was pregnant with his child. The couple married, but shortly after, it was revealed that Brooke was not pregnant. Ridge divorced her and he went back to Taylor. The two married again.

Ridge finally started a family with Taylor. They soon were parents to twin girls Steffy and Phoebe and a son Thomas. It didn’t take long however, for Ridge’s roaming eye to catch the attention of another woman. This time he had an affair with Morgan DeWitt. Taylor discovered the affair. The two women struggled and Morgan fell down a flight of stairs. She was carrying Ridge’s baby and during the fall, Morgan miscarried. Morgan felt as thou Taylor took her child away from her. In return, Morgan kidnapped their daughter Steffy. She changed her appearance and pretended she was her own child. Morgan also let Taylor and Ridge think that their daughter was killed in a boating accident. When Taylor realized the truth about Steffy, she was also kidnapped by Morgan. Ridge was overcome with rage when he learned about his child and wife. He rescued them by running his vehicle into the kidnappers house. Saving both Taylor and Steffy.

For Taylor, the happily ever after never really started when she was shot and killed by deranged Sheila Carter, Eric’s new psycho wife. Ridge was left to raise their children on his own.

It also came to light, that Eric Forrester was not Ridge’s biological father. When Stephanie and Eric were first married, she had an affair with Massimo Marone. When Ridge was conceived, she initially thought the child was Eric’s. It wasn’t known until Ridge was an adult he was not. Ridge and Eric were crushed to find out they were not “true” father/son. Both of them have decided to not let this interfere with the relationship.

After some time passed, Ridge realized he was still in love with Brooke. The two got back together and married again. During their honeymoon, something went wrong. This time Ridge was presumed dead. While Brooke was mourning her dead husband, she took comfort in Ridge’s step brother arms, Nick. When Ridge was found alive, he had his marriage to Brooke annulled after she announced she was pregnant with Nick’s child.

Ridge was still in deeply in love with Brooke. It killed him to see her engaged to Nick. Ridge did everything in his power to win Brooke back. He finally did when it was determined the biological father of her baby was Ridge and not Nick.

Ridge and Brooke married again vowed to make things with their new family. One night, Ridge saw a deceased Taylor standing outside. She vanished as quickly as she appeared. Ridge was convenience Taylor was still alive and had her grave exhumed. Inside the coffin was a statute, not Taylor’s body. Ridge was overjoyed that Taylor was not really dead. He soon realized that Taylor went to a friend Omar’s place to heal from her shot gun wound. Ridge and Taylor found themselves falling in love all over again.

When it was determined that Taylor was alive, Ridge’s marriage to Brooke was void. This time it took medaling from Stephanie Forrester to actually push the two to back together by faking a heart attack. Ridge and Taylor were remarried. Not long after, Taylor admitted to having two affairs. Ridge was extremely upset and had this marriage declared annul.

Ridge tried to get Brooke away from Nick again, Brooke resisted. Another downward spiral in the Ridge/Brooke love saga, accrued when Brooke’s son Rick started dating Ridge’s daughter Phoebe. Ridge ended up hurting Rick during a heated confrontation. Brooke told Ridge he went too far this time and she was done with him forever.

Ridge than began dating Ashley Abbott. Stephanie interfered with Brooke again and had her children taken away from her by Child and Protective Services, a move Ridge at first thought was right. But after Brooke was raped by Andy Johnson, Ridge ran to be by her side. When Ridge confronted Andy, he electrocuted himself. Ridge also had Brooke’s children return to her.

Brooke was contemplating a reunion with Ridge, when she learned Ridge and Ashley were engaged. A heartbroken Brooke was devastated. Fortunately for Brooke, the engagement was soon over and her and Ridge were finally together again.

When things finally settled down in his personal life, Ridge became extremely involved in the family business. This time Eric’s new wife Donna was creating issues within the company. Ridge teamed up with his siblings to find out Donna had a child, Marcus with how she gave up years ago. Eric welcomed the boy into the Forrester family by adopting him. This did not sit too well with Eric especially after Marcus began dating his daughter Steffy.

Shortly after, Eric took a major heart attack which left Donna as CEO of FC. Ridge was extremely upset with the current situation. When the doctor’s lead the family to believe that Eric would not survive, Ridge pleaded with Donna to “pull the plug”. When she wouldn’t, Ridge pulled the plug himself. Thankfully, the hospital staff reinserted the plug and Eric recovered.

Ridge soon realized that Taylor was still in love with him even though she was engaged to Rick. When Rick became aware of this, he had Ridge meet him on the top of the FC building. During a scuffle, Rick fell off the roof and became paralyzed. Brooke was caught between taking care of her son and being with Ridge. Ridge left Brooke so she could devote her time to her son’s recovery.

During his recovery, Rick did everything in his power to destroy his brother Ridge. Including having Eric name him as CEO of FC. Ridge and Brooke decided that they wanted to be together, even if Rick wasn’t happy about it. But again Rick turned things upside-down for them and Ridge and Taylor wound up back together. This time at their wedding ceremony, Brooke interrupted the couple before they could say “I Do”. Ridge again realized he was still in love with Brooke and left a heartbroken Taylor at the altar. Later, Ridge and Brooke were officially married at the Justice of the Peace.

Things at FC were doomed when Bill Spencer took over the family business. Ridge was so upset and depressed at the take over. It also upset others in the business including Hope, Brooke’s daughter, Taylor and her daughter Steffy. The fights and back stabbing were the norm at FC.

Brooke and Ridge were on course when Brooke mistakenly had sex with her daughter’s boyfriend. Again Ridge forgave her. But it was too much for Ridge to handle when his son Thomas kissed Brooke on the runway. The two were than lost at sea during a plane crash. Bill and Ridge worked together and found them both on an island.

Stephanie took this opportunity to have Thomas lie that he and Brooke were intimate while they were stranded on the island. Again, hurting Ridge, he went back to Taylor. On Ridge and Taylor’s wedding day, Stephanie finally admitted that she had Thomas lie. An angry Ridge, went back to Brooke.

Ridge and Brooke were in Italy when he asked her to marry him. They were married, but Ridge found out that Brooke was talking with Hope’s father Deacon, and he left her. Since they did not formally obtain their marriage papers, the was no real marriage.

Ridge did not return to America or Forrester Creations. He went to Paris where he stayed for over a year. He did not even return to his family after his mother Stephanie had passed away. Ridge needed time to heal and find himself again.

Ridge finally came home to LA and the Forrester mansion. His dad was over joyed to see his son. Ridge had decided he wanted to get back with Brooke before he returned home. But after learning that Brooke had an affair with her sister Katie’s husband, Bill, Ridge was disappointed.

After some time, Ridge and Brooke did make it to the altar again, but this time it was Katie who stopped the wedding. Ridge and Katie became close after his return. Feeling were developing and Ridge wasn’t sure he really wanted to marry Brooke. Katie faked a heart illness and the wedding was stopped. Finally Brooke became aware of Katie and Ridge falling in love. Brooke went back with Bill. It all looked like the four of them were ready to start their own lives.

When Bill took Brooke to Dubai to marry, Ridge followed them. After everything horrible thing Bill did to Katie when they were married, he did not want the same thing for Brooke. He dragged Brooke away from the ceremony to a waiting helicopter. Bill had a feeling that someone would try and stop their wedding so he had a pilot ready and waiting in his own helicopter. Ridge put Brooke in the helicopter to leave Dubai, but didn’t realize it was Bill’s pilot. When Bill gave the signal, the pilot turned the plane and Ridge fell into the Persian Gulf and was lost at seas for days. One day a distraught Brooke found Ridge walking on the beach. Ridge was not the same. He had some memory issues and couldn’t design anymore when he returned to FC. Shortly after, it became known that Bill was the one who ordered the plane to drop Ridge. Brooke could not forgive Bill and left him. Ridge was back with Katie, but still recovering.

With Ridge not being able to design anymore, he had Caroline Forrester, Rick’s wife, assist him. During their design sessions, Ridge would guide Caroline’s hand up and down the paper until the perfect dress was finished. The two really bonded on an emotional and physical level. They tried to fight their feelings, but they took over and the two ended up kissing a few times.

When Eric announced he was stepping down as CEO of FC, he told Ridge and Rick he would pick one of them to succeed him. When Ridge was first named CEO, Maya told everyone about Ridge and Caroline kissing. When they both admitted it, Eric changed his mind and named Rick as CEO. Ridge was blown away! Rick started treating Ridge and Caroline really bad and was looking for revenge.

Ridge and Katie soon broke up and Ridge is now with Caroline.  Rick is with Maya and has divorced Caroline.
