Last week we caught up with some of our favorite guy soap stars – where are they now? This week let’s catch up with some of the ladies. This week we’ll take a peek at what’s up with Crystal Chappell, Linda Dano and Amanda Seyfried. All three actresses have had successful careers but have added other projects to their resumes. Do you ever wonder what direction some of your favorite soap stars have taken since leaving daytime behind? Let’s find out!
Crystal Chappell had a few non-contract roles before joining the cast of “Days of Our Lives” then “One Life to Live” and eventually “Guiding Light.” Crystal is still acting – according to a recent tweet she has read a couple of great scripts – one for “Venice the Series.” Seasons three and four have just been released to Vimeo. Seasons one and two are available on YouTube. Warning – adult content – view discretion is advised. In 2012 Chappell released a biography entitled “The Perfect Art of Imperfection: My Life So Far.”
Linda Dano joined the cast of “One Live to Live” in 1978 as Gretel Cummings – moving on in 1981 to “As the World Turns” as Cynthia Haines. In 1982 Dano was cast as Felicia Grant on “Another World” and stayed with the show until its cancellation in 1999. Linda has had guest-starring roles on primetime shows – “Homicide: Life on the Street” in 1997 and “Desperate Housewives” in 2005 are just a couple of them. What is Linda doing now? QVC carries the Linda Dano Home Collection which offers bedding, furniture, artwork and more – and she also has an Ebay store where she has a 100 percent approval rating. On her website Dano writes a blog – and she is currently residing in New York City.
Amanda Seyfried portrayed Lucy Montgomery from 1999 until 2001 on “As The World Turns.” Among the projects life after daytime drama brought – Amanda starred as Sarah Hendrickson on the highly acclaimed HBO series “Big Love.” She co-starred opposite Meryl Streep in the ABBA-inspired “Mama Mia” and starred as Linda Lovelace in the film “Lovelace.” These days Amanda is one of the most in-demand young actresses in Hollywood and is busy filming the reboot of “Twin Peaks” for Showtime. No information is available about the character she will portray just yet. Amanda Seyfried and boyfriend of two years – actor Justin Long – recently ended their relationship.
