Our Favorite Soap Stars – Michael Damian, Jon Lindstrom, Darnell Williams and John Stamos – Where Are They Now?

Actors often leave soap operas in order to pursue careers on primetime television, in movies and sometimes their own producing and directing their own projects. Do you ever wonder what direction some of your favorite soap stars have taken since leaving daytime behind? Let’s catch up with Michael Damien (Danny Romaloti, “The Young and the Restless”), Jon Lindstrom (Kevin Collins, “General Hospital” and “Port Charles”), Darnell Williams (Jesse Hubbard, “All My Children) and John Stamos (Blackie Parish, “General Hospital”).

Michael Damian portrayed the hot musician all the young ladies of “The Young and the Restless” wanted. His sparkling blue eyes and gorgeous dimples captured the hearts of Tracy Abbott (Beth Maitland), Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman), Christine “Cricket” Blair (Lauralee Bell) and Phyllis Summers (then Michelle Stafford). But Michael left “Y&R” behind to pursue a career as a musician and has been a huge success in Europe. Right now Damian is awaiting the 2016 release of the movie “Highstrung” to theaters. The movie was a joint venture with his wife Janeen – they wrote and directed the film about dance and music.

Jon Lindstrom has portrayed several characters on daytime dramas, most notably as Kevin Collins on “General Hospital.” On Valentine’s Day 2014 he married long-time girlfriend Cady McClain of “The Young and the Restless,” “As The World Turns” and “All My Children” fame. Lindstrom has turned to writing, directing and producing. Lindstrom’s latest film, “How We Got Away With It” – an explosive story of a young man and his friend’s violent reaction to an unexpected tragedy – is available on iTunes, Amazon and other platforms. “How We Got Away With It” was nominated for several indie film awards – and was the winner of Best of Fest 2013 at the Film Fest Twain Heart, Audience Choice Award for a Feature Film 2013 at the Marina del Rey Film Festival, Best Thriller Feature Film 2013 at the Sonoma International Film Festival.

Darnell Williams is best known as Jesse Hubbard on “All My Children” but also had a brief stint as Sarge on “The Young and The Restless.” Fans don’t often hear about Darnell but recently it was revealed that the actor has been in discussions to join the cast of a new web series “Year Rounders” which will air on a brand new online network named Sudsville. There is no information yet on what character Darnell but former “AMC” co-star Alicia Minshew has signed on to portray Georgina Phillips – described as a ‘slightly tarnished trophy wife with a bad prenup.”

John Stamos was the very popular bad boy Blackie Parish on “General Hospital” and moved on to have a highly successful primetime television career. After leaving “GH” Stamos starred as Uncle Jesse in the hit ABC family comedy “Full House.” When the comedy ended in 1995 John starred in “Thieves” and “Jake In Progress” – but both were cancelled after the first season. Now John has teamed up with his former “Full House” co-stars for a new show – “Fuller House.” The 13-episode show will be available on Netflix in 2016. In addition to the new version of the ABC comedy, Stamos is the star of “Grandfathered” a comedy that premieres September 29 on Fox.
