On Thursday April 2, 2015 I had the opportunity to attend the PastPros & Friends Charity Bowling in Montreal. The event was held at at Montreal Forum Sports Bar and I got to enjoy night of bowling and Expos fun! The event was in support of the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal. The shelter offers the best possible services to Aboriginal women and children, you can find more information about the shelter, right here!
Although the night was a night to meet former expo players including Ellis Valentine and Al Oliver another attendee was uber Expos fan William DeVry. William plays mobster Julian Jerome on the hit television daytime drama General Hospital. When I heard William was at the event I had to attend, I mean who wouldn’t want to spend an evening with a soap star? The great news is not only did I get to meet William but I got to bowl 10-frames of bowling with him.
In addition to SOS (Soap Opera Spy) I have a large Entertainment Website, so meeting celebs is not new a new experience for me. However, this was my first “meet and greet” with a Soap Celeb and I was pleasantly surprised to see how different it was. Missing from the formula was a agent, a handler and 5 other people acting as a buffer between the star and their fans there was just William ready for an evening of fun.
William was personable, fun, and clearly there to have a good time. He was assigned to be the Team Captain of our team which was made up of five women and William. We bowled 10-frames which took a little longer than usual since William posed for photos though out the game. We didn’t win the night with the highest scoring team but we certainly had a fun night. (Photos below)
For those of you who love to see candid photos of soap stars my sister and I are going to the General Hospital Fantasy Event hosted by Tyler Christopher & Laura Wright in New Jersey April 12th. A few of the stars we will be hobnobbing with are my new pal William DeVry, Tyler Christopher and Laura Wright, from ABC’s General Hospital. The event will also feature Rick Hearst, Ian Buchanan, Kathleen Gati, Ryan Paevey, Nancy Lee Grahn, Michelle Stafford and Wally Kurth and I will be thinking of all of you SOSers. I will be doing live updates with photos, tweets and all the fun at the GH event.
Make sure to join our Facebook Group and follow us on twitter to see all the fun!

This looks like a really fun night and he seems like a genuinely nice guy. What a great opportunity!
Love when celebrities take time to support charitable causes.
Looks like a fun event! It’s nice to know it’s for a good cause.
Love seeing charity events like this. What a great way for celebrities to raise money for causes that are close to their hearts.
How awesome. Looks like a fun event.
I think it’s fantastic when those that can, give back. Especially when it’s celebrities as they have ways to encourage others to give back too.
What a fun event to be part of! I love that this celebrity is donating his time to a charitable cause. Way to go!
This sounds like an amazing event indeed. I used to watch General Hospital years ago but have’t for years now. Thanks so much for sharing your amazing experience with us.
What a fun event. Bowling is nice without celebrities, I imagine it’s that much more fun with them around. 😉
This sounds like so much fun. I would love to meet some of my favorite actors. Maybe one day, never know what will happen. 😉
I grew up watching this. Love when celebs give back. So great
I bet it’s fun for these celebs too 🙂 It is awesome to see them helping others.
Gh is my favourite soap, always has been. I had to stop watching it when it was taken off TV but I’d love to watch more of it some day. That’s awesome that you got to spend time with a star without a whole entourage of people between you two.
What a lovely evening together for a great cause! I enjoyed this post with a positive cause related story. I don’t watch Soaps or recognize the celebs mentioned, but I can relate to a good cause. 🙂
It’s always great when celebrities take the time for a good cause.
I have not bowled in a long time. I forgot how fun that is./ Great idea for a charity night
Bowling seems an exciting sport. You can see the smiles on their faces that says they’re really having fun.
