General Hospital’s Genie Francis Named Nutrisystem Brand Ambassador

General Hospital’s Genie Francis [Laura Spencer] has just landed the gig of a lifetime, and no, it’s not another soap opera role. Nutrisystem, Inc. announced, Genie has been named the new Nutrisystem Brand Ambassador. By Genie’s own comments, she has lost 30+ pounds while on Nutrisystem’s weight loss program, which she purportedly started in 2013 after losing her sister and seeing her oldest son off to university.

Genie Francis told Soap Opera Network, “I’ve always been an emotional eater. I use food to comfort myself. It’s been an ongoing problem in my life. But the biggest part of the problem was that before, in order to lose weight, I would do extreme diets and starve. The good thing about Nutrisystem is that I’m more at peace with food.”

She also adds, “I know how to eat the right amount of breakfast, lunch and dinner. I avoid triggers and stay away from button foods – the ones that make you want to eat more. The fact that I get to eat the foods I love on Nutrisystem, satisfies my cravings and I am less vulnerable to those button foods.”

It was around the 25-pound weight loss mark that Francis started to realize that she could fit into her old clothes, and that’s when she began crediting Nutrisystem for enabling the weight loss. The biggest problem that most people have with weight loss is discipline, and Nutrisystem certainly allows you some flexibility in what you eat and when you eat it – which is infinitely preferable to diet pills or drastic weight loss solutions.
