There are a lot of major stories brewing in Port Charles and we’ve got all of the “General Hospital” spoilers you’re looking for – read on for news about what’s going on with your favorite characters!

The ELQ Takeover

Nikolas Cassadine [Tyler Christopher] is getting very close to making his ELQ coup a reality. Nik’s got Rosalie Martinez [Linda Elena Tovar] scurrying all over Port Charles doing his dirty work. But there’s a wrinkle heading Nik’s way as the summer heats up – in the form of Sam Morgan [Kelly Monaco] and Jake Doe [Billy Miller].

Sabrina Santiago [Teresa Castillo] thinks Rosalie seems shady and will hire Sam on the side to use her sleuthing skills to looking Michael Quartermaine’s [Chad Duell] secretary. At the same time, Michael hires on Jake as the new head of security at ELQ. That puts Jake in proximity to both Michael and Sam which will trigger some memories that will get him close to figuring out who he really is.

Once Jake figures out he’s Jason, that will mess with Nik’s majority ELQ share calculations. That also spells trouble for both Nik and Liz Webber [Rebecca Herbst]. When it comes out that Nik and Liz knew who Jake was but kept his identity secret for their personal benefit, all heck is going to break loose. Look for Carly Corinthos [Laura Wright] to go after Liz with a vengeance.

Port Charles Mob Wars

The PC mob activity reached fever pitch recently and has wreaked major havoc on many lives. Because of Julian Jerome’s [William deVry] mob ties, Olivia Falconeri [Lisa LoCicero] lied about him being her baby daddy then faked the baby’s death. That whole debacle has prompted Julian to step out of the mob life and focus on his legitimate business.

Because Julian cut his mob ties, we’ll see the romance between Julian and Alexis Davis [Nancy Lee Grahn] heat up in weeks to come. But just because Julian is out of the mob doesn’t mean he’s out of the vengeance business. Julian will get wind of the Franco [Roger Howarth] blackmail of Olivia and decide that triggered the premature labor and he’ll look for revenge in coming weeks.

But don’t think Port Charles will be safer now that it’s just Sonny Corinthos [Maurice Benard] running PC’s illicit activities. Nature abhors a vacuum (and so do soap writers). Look for someone else to try and scoop up the Jerome territory – maybe even Ava Jerome [Maura West] back from the dead and masquerading as Denise DeMuccio. Or it could be a whole new mobster come to town!

The Ava Jerome Doppelgänger

Saved from death, Ava just couldn’t keep her deal with Silas Clay [Michael Easton] to leave town and enjoy her freedom. Ava just found out from Silas that she narrowly escaped being caught in a DNA test because the PCPD ran a blood test rather than a cheek swab. But Ava will not be deterred. Look for Ava to spend as much time as possible with baby Avery and Kiki Jerome [Hayley Erin].

And sure the DNA tests did show she’s not Ava, but Sonny doesn’t give a hot d*mn about science. He’s convinced that Denise is Ava and he will not let up. You can expect to see Sonny threatening Denise and trying to trip her up to reveal her true identity in the coming weeks. But that’s not all. “Denise” obviously has the hots for Morgan Corinthos [Bryan Craig] and that’s going to get heated.

By summer’s end, we may find out that Morgan is, in fact, the father of baby Avery. This will throw a wrench into Morgan and Kiki’s re-blossoming relationship. No doubt Ava will be caught in her lies, but we know that she’s got the ability to wiggle out of almost anything. The real question is whether Ava will be able to be herself and escape a return to Pentonville. Perhaps a pardon like Sonny got?

Luke Spencer’s Dramatic Exit

We are also in the final few weeks of Luke Spencer’s [Anthony Geary] near 40-year tenure on General Hospital. We’ll see lots of familiar faces before he leaves. Laura Spencer [Genie Francis] will be back to try and mess up his impending remarriage to Tracy Quartermaine [Jane Elliot]. Other ex Holly Sutton [Emma Samms] is also coming back.

Holly will have their son Ethan Lovett [Nathan Parsons] with them. And that’s not the only MIA kid who will return to Port Charles for the goodbye. Lucky Spencer [Jonathon Jackson] will take a break from shooting his hit show Nashville to stop into Port Charles. Can’t wait to see the look on Liz’s face when he returns.

And don’t look for Luke to go into a graceful retirement – instead, he’ll head out on one last adventure with one of these lucky ladies. As of now, it’s not clear if Luke will roll out of town with Holly, Laura or Tracy. The latter is a long shot as Tracy is needed in Port Charles. Laura is the most likely choice as an homage to the fans and the decades-long Luke and Laura romance.

Other Comings and Goings

In addition to Luke’s departure, Anna Devane [Finola Hughes] will spend most of the summer in Ireland spreading Duke’s ashes. When she comes back in late summer, Anna will bring along a guest and, rumor has it, it may be Robin Scorpio [Kelly McCullough]. Olivia will also be back later in summer – Lisa LoCicero is taking a short maternity leave.

Look for two new recasts to show up in PC by summer’s end. There is a male age 50 recast and a female mid 20s recast. Rumor has it that it’s Dr Kevin O’Connor and Sarah Webber that will be heading back to our favorite little New York enclave. There’s a small chance the male recast could be to replace Wally Kurth as Ned Ashton, but odds are heavier that it will be Kevin!

This is a not-to-be-missed summer in Port Charles. Romances will heat up. Passions will flare and the drama will reach epic proportions. Be sure to check back with Soap Opera Spy all summer long for tons of “General Hospital” spoilers and updates!
