Today we’re going to dig into the drama surrounding little Avery Corinthos and her custody. If you remember, she was conceived in turmoil. Ava Jerome [Maura West] wasn’t sure if her baby daddy was Morgan Corinthos [Bryan Craig] or Morgan’s dad Sonny Corinthos [Maurice Benard]. Even after Sonny found out Ava was carrying his child, he still wanted to kill her for murdering his sweetie Connie Falconeri [Kelly Sullivan].

Then while Ava was pregnant, Sabrina Santiago [Teresa Castillo] monkeyed with her medication sending Ava into premature labor. Then to make things worse, Nina Clay [Michelle Stafford] stole Avery and ran off with Franco [Roger Howarth] to form a little dysfunctional family. But that’s not all – remember Sonny and Ava were both sent to Pentonville. That left poor little Avery (after being rescued from Nina) in her sister Kiki Jerome’s [Kristen Alderson, Hayley Erin] care.

But after Sonny was pardoned and Ava presumed dead, Sonny came to take Avery away. All this and the poor little girl is less than six months old and the drama surrounding her is still brewing. Michael Quartermaine [Chad Duell] decided to punish Sonny for killing his bio-dad AJ by taking custody of her away. The lawsuit accuses Sonny of being an unfit parent. Ric Lansing [Rick Hearst] is representing his half-brother Sonny and Alexis Davis [Nancy Lee Grahn] is acting on Michael’s behalf.

Despite that literally every one of Sonny’s children and wives have been kidnapped, shot, blown up and otherwise tormented, the original judge in the case was sympathetic. But then Michael pulled a fast one and got his grandma Monica Quartermaine’s [Lesley Charleson] boyfriend Judge Walters [William Allen Young] to take over the case. Remember he was the judge that gave Maxie Jones [Kirsten Storms] such a hard time with her custody case.

Today Judge Walters ruled that Michael Q gets custody of his sister Avery and told Sonny to hand her over. But will he? All signs point to no. Remember Avery is in New York City with her brother Morgan and sister Kiki for Ava’s memorial. Sonny lied to the judge and said Avery was at his house. In fact, Avery is in her mother’s hands right now since she snuck into her own memorial. So the big question for the coming days is, who will kidnap Avery since, at this point, it seems inevitable.

Rumors point to Sonny calling Morgan and asking him to keep Avery in NYC so Michael can’t have her which will give Ric enough time to file an appeal and block the custody transfer. But that will make Morgan a kidnapper. The question is, will Morgan agree to perpetrate a federal offense for his dad? And even if he does, will Kiki let him? And, will Avery even be there for Morgan to kidnap or will she have already have been kidnapped by Ava?

Will Silas be able to talk Ava out of taking her daughter on the lam with her? It looks certain that little Avery will be absconded with by someone – the only question is who will end up with her. Although I personally think Sonny is terribly, terribly sexy, he is a walking death risk for his loved ones, so Avery is not better off with him. And Michael, while concerned and certainly wealthy enough to take care of her, is inexperienced and busy. I think Avery needs to be handed back to Kiki.

Unless Sonny can guilt Michael into giving Avery back or Judge Walter’s gets thrown off the case it looks like Michael may well walk away with his sister. What do you think GH fans? Which of baby Avery’s many relatives in Port Charles is best suited to raise the little cutie?
