‘General Hospital’ Spoilers Week Of Aug. 17: GH’s Nina Suspect Madeline Killed Silas, Scott Outs Denise As Ava, Julian Has A Secret

Port Charles is a beehive this week with the Silas Clay murder trial and growing mob violence – here’s the ‘General Hospital’ spoilers you need for the August 17th through August 21st episodes.

Nina Clay [Michelle Stafford] is distraught that Franco [Roger Howarth] is on trial starting this week for the murder of her ex Silas Clay [Michael Easton]. Nina is ready to sacrifice herself to save Franco, but it may not come to that. She’s super-sleuthing with brother Nathan West [Ryan Paevey] and they figure out that Madeline Reeves [Donna Mills] may be the real culprit. Now they have to prove it.

Ric Lansing [Rick Hearst] wants to send Franco away for good so he’s not an obstacle with Nina and Ric can keep the DA job. Too bad nothing ever works out for no-good Ric. Scotty Baldwin [Kin Shriner] will get Denise DeMuccio [Maura West] on the stand and force her to out herself as Ava Jerome. And this will be a surprise to some, but not to her brother Julian Jerome [William deVry].

Julian will overhear Dr Obrecht [Kathleen Gati] chatting with Denise and will learn that Denise is really his sister Ava. That makes so many things align for him mentally. Ava comes completely clean to her brother and begs him to help her – and of course, she’s got a way to leverage Julian to help whether he wants to or not. Is Julian going to help Ava get clear of her Connie Falconeri murder charge?

Julian also has issues with Brad Cooper [Parry Shen] lying to Lucas Jones [Ryan Carnes] about being married. Alexis Davis [Nancy Lee Grahn] calms him down then wants to know once and for all if he has anything to do with the mob violence in Port Charles. Julian is still hiding a secret, even though the secret is not that he’s back in the mob – but he definitely has a hand in what’s going on in some way.

Lucas hears out Brad and while he’s not happy that Brad is hitched to Rosalie Martinez [Linda Elena Tovar] he’s ready to move past it and make a tentative peace with his honey even though they clearly can’t be engaged. Anyone else feel like this is a last minute Hail Mary to knock out both Brad and Rosalie’s secret – but it wasn’t what the original plot line was? It feels forced and hinky.

Valerie Spencer [Brytni Sarpi] and Maxie Jones [Kirsten Storms] find some common ground, but is Maxie just making nice so she can keep an eye on Val and make sure she’s really over Dante Falconeri [Dominic Zamprogna]? Dante wants an update from his mom Olivia Falconeri [Lisa LoCicero] about his baby brother and she wants to know what’s up with his marriage to Lulu Spencer [Emme Rylan].

Lulu meanwhile is getting way too comfortable with Dillon Quartermaine [Robert Palmer Watkins] while they work on the movie project together. This intimacy will not be good for Lulu and Dante’s marriage. What was Lulu thinking agreeing to spend her days with her ex? Dillon also looks up Lucas this week and they play catch up on one anothers lives, drama, the good, the bad and the ugly.

Olivia considers telling Julian the truth about their son being alive, but before she comes clean, she wants some confirmation that Julian has clean hands. Olivia goes to chat up Sonny Corinthos [Maurice Benard] who tells her he thinks Julian is still neck deep in the syndicate. That’s not what Olivia was hoping to hear but when Sonny wants to know why she’s asking, will Olivia tells Sonny her secret?

Jordan Ashford [Vinessa Antoine] is all over Sonny about the dead body she found from his tip. Sonny wants her out of his face and investigating Julian, but Jordan isn’t ready to let him off the hook that easy. Sonny puts TJ Ashford [Tequan Richmond] to work spying for him – will TJ be watching Julian for Sonny? Molly Lansing-Davis [Haley Pullos] isn’t happy about TJ’s involvement with Sonny.

Carly Corinthos [Laura Wright] is increasingly worried about Morgan Corinthos [Bryan Craig] and not sure he didn’t kill Silas. Carly chats up Michael Quartermaine [Chad Duell] about his brother and Michael tells Sabrina Santiago [Teresa Castillo] about the family history of mental illness. They wonder if Morgan could be bipolar like Sonny and how they can help him.

Carly runs in to Madeline Reeves [Donna Mills] and they bond over similar concerns about their kids. Meanwhile, Hayden Barnes [Rebecca Budig] is getting back her memories. Nikolas Cassadine [Tyler Christopher] shares this info with Liz Webber [Rebecca Herbst] who freaks out and says they have to protect the Jake Doe [Billy Miller] secret. Is Liz encouraging Nik to finish off Hayden? Not cool girl!
