Luke Spencer [Anthony Geary] is leaving Port Charles for good on July 27, but ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal that Laura Spencer [Genie Francis] is not riding off into the sunset with her soul mate. Laura has lots going on in Port Charles and Nikolas Cassadine [Tyler Christopher] will need her, so look for Laura to be in town at least two or three months after Luke heads out – and maybe for longer.

What will Laura do in Port Charles?

Laura hasn’t had a real job in a while but she needs a little something to do to keep her busy in between her romances and rivalries that will develop in coming weeks. Some fans are clamoring for Laura to take over Kelly’s since she’s had experience running the Triple L diner with Luke and Lucky Spencer [Jonathan Jackson]. That’s not very interesting, so we’re hoping showrunners have something else in mind.

When Nik told Laura that he had taken over ELQ, she shared a fond reminiscence about when she briefly worked at ELQ for Edward back at the day. This was an out of the blue mention and could very well have been foreshadowing Laura coming back to ELQ to work under son Nik while he operates as CEO. Nik will need someone he can trust and since the Quartermaines all hate him, mom Laura may be a good choice to stand by his side.

Who will Laura romance in Port Charles?

In a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, Genie Francis indicated she was chatting with GH writers about a romance for Laura. There’s a few ways to go with this. Her ex-hubby Scotty Baldwin [Kin Shriner] is an obvious choice for her to consider renewing a romance, but we’ve been there and seen that, so it would be more exciting to pair her with someone we’ve never seen Laura with before to spice things up a bit.

There are some ‘General Hospital’ rumors that Laura and Kyle Sloane [Grayson McCouch] may have had a romance in the unseen past. Since Anna Devane [Finola Hughes] kicked Sloane to the curb after their one night stand, he’s looking for love. They are close to the same age and, let’s face it, Sloane is smoking hot – so much hotter than either Luke or Scotty. And if they hook up, that means we get to see Sloane in a towel again!

Who will be Laura’s nemesis in Port Charles?

For a long time, Helena Cassadine [Constance Towers] has been the go-to villain plotting against the Spencer clan, but this go-round, Laura maybe seen as the villain – at least by Tracy Quartermaine [Jane Elliot]. Since Laura ruined Tracy and Luke’s engagement party – although she had a legitimate reason – Tracy is furious, and who can blame her? Even though Laura had to deal with the kidnapping, they could have filled Tracy in, but instead Laura and Luke crushed her.

And if Laura breaking up her engagement wasn’t bad enough, Laura’s son Nike taking charge at ELQ adds insult to injury – all this will be further aggravated if Laura accepts Nik’s job offer to come work with him at ELQ. As far as Tracy will see, Laura will have stolen her man and her company – and she will not take this sitting down. Look for Tracy to hit back at Laura at every turn. Tracy wants Laura to feel the hurt and humiliation that Tracy has, so this will not be pretty!
