‘General Hospital’ Spoilers, Friday August 7: Dr. Obrecht Saves Franco, Carly Suspects Morgan Is A Murderer, Nikolas Confesses To Liz

There is no rest for the wicked in Port Charles on Friday. Here are some ‘General Hospital’ spoilers for the August 7 episode.

Ric Lansing [Rick Hearst] and Madeline Reeves [Donna Mills] are so close to having their dirty mitts on Nina Clay’s [Michelle Stafford] millions. Remember when Ric told Nina he couldn’t stay to talk about Franco [Roger Howarth] and Silas Clay’s [Michael Easton] murder? He said he had a court date – was that a hearing to approve Ric’s conservatorship of Nina and get her money released to him? Ric and Madeline hope that Silas’ murder will throw Nina deeper into a mental state so they can get the money and leave her locked up.

Madeline is worried Franco will throw a monkey wrench into their plans, but will be reassured to hear he’s locked up. But Madeline shouldn’t rest too easy. Franco has an advocate in her equally devious sister Liesl Obrecht [Kathleen Gait] who is ready to advise Franco on how to get what he wants without going down for a murder he didn’t commit. Franco decides to lay it all out on the table and tells her that Ava Jerome [Maura West] is alive and Silas kidnapped baby Avery to save her life and lays out the DNA change and all the dirt. Trust Dr O to get Franco out of there and exonerated.

After Ric takes off out of Shadybrook in a rush, Nina’s little brother Nathan West [Ryan Paevey] digs into Nina to ask her why she’s so sure that Franco is innocent. Will Nina throw herself on her sword and tell him that she was in the apartment and knows Franco didn’t do it and that Franco was trying to help her? And if she does, will Nathan keep it hush-hush? He would totally believe that Franco would do that for Nina since he knows how much she loves her. Nathan is not happy that his sister is stuck in Shadybrook for no reason that he can see especially when she says Silas kidnapped Avery.

Meanwhile, Carly Corinthos [Laura Wright] has another suspect in mind for the Silas stabbing. She thinks it could be her own flesh and blood. Carly tells Sonny Corinthos [Maurice Benard] that she thinks Morgan Corinthos [Bryan Craig] could have done this. Carly and Sonny think that Denise has exercised undue influence on their impressionable son and that Morgan either stabbed Silas to keep him from blabbing to Kiki Jerome [Hayley Erin] about him and Denise – or that Denise told Morgan to attack Silas and he did it. They want him to dump Denise and Morgan goes to do just that.

In non-Silas related drama, Jake Doe [Billy Miller] wants to see if Hayden Barnes [Rebecca Budig] has recovered any memories. There’s really no doubt that Hayden knows what went on and that she has no memory lapse – she’s just hedging her bets and covering her a**. Jake wants to know if Hayden knows Nikolas Cassadine [Tyler Christopher] and she has some pause. Likely Hayden isn’t ready to give up the goods just yet, but will tell Jake very soon who he really is and will confirm that Liz Webber [Rebecca Herbst] has been keeping secrets and has known who he is for months.

Patrick Drake [Jason Thompson] isn’t happy to hear that Sam Morgan [Kelly Monaco] has been conspiring with Jake to investigate Nikolas and, worse yet, doesn’t trust Patrick’s BFF Liz. Sam will say she’s sorry, but Patrick feels utterly betrayed. Also feeling betrayed is Liz who finds out that she’s involved in much more than simple lies about identity when Nikolas lays out the ugly truth about him trying to put a bullet in Hayden’s head to shut her up. Nik warns her she doesn’t want to know, Liz insists, then is horrified at the lengths Nik has gone to.
