‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Genie Francis’ Future With GH – Is There Life For Laura After Luke Exits?

“General Hospital” spoilers tease that Genie Francis’ character Laura Spencer will be exiting the ABC soap on July 27 – which is also Anthony Geary’s final air date as the iconic character and the other half of Laura’s super couple, Luke Spencer. According to GH spoilers, Francis will take the summer off and then she will return “General Hospital” in the fall for a brief stint before she exits again for good in December 2015.

When “General Hospital” spoilers and coming and going news first confirmed that Genie Francis was headed back to Port Charles to revive the character of Laura Spencer, we were beyond thrilled – even if it was only temporary. But, now we have grown accustomed to seeing Genie on our TV’s again every day and it is just devastating to think that she will be leaving again very soon. But, according to a new report from CBS Soaps In Depth, Genie Francis doesn’t want to leave – and she is open to working on the daytime drama full time!

Genie sat down with Soaps In Depth and the actress revealed that she has been talking to TPTB at the soap opera about working again full time, and sticking around indefinitely. Francis explained to the magazine, “I have been here [in Los Angeles] the whole time my kids have been in high-school. Now I have an empty nest so I am even more interested in working. I don’t want to sit home and not know what to do with myself!”

How amazing would it be if Genie Francis was back on “General Hospital” for good? Anthony Geary is obviously irreplaceable, although have Laura Spencer back in Port Charles will make his exit a little more bearable for longtime fans. Do you think Laura Spencer should stay in Port Charles?
