‘General Hospital’ SPECULATION – Is Rosalie Out of Port Charles for Good? Linda Elena Tovar Auditioning for Other Roles

‘General Hospital’ spoilers indicate that the new head co-writers may be cleaning house of some stale plots started by Ron Carlivati that have petered out due to lack of fan interest and among them may be that of Rosalie Martinez [Linda Elena Tovar]. There was a big hullabaloo for a while about Rosalie’s big “secret” when she was first at Crichton Clark Clinic taking care of Nina Clay [Michelle Stafford] and doing her dirty work.

Then later, Rosalie ended up working for Michael Quartermaine [Chad Duell] at ELQ and doing Nikolas Cassadine’s [Tyler Christopher] dirty work there. Then – poof – Rosalie seemed to disappear from Port Charles only to turn up to surprise Brad Cooper [Parry Shen] with her presence. Of course, we found out that Brad and Rosalie were married and this was Brad’s big secret that he was keeping from his fiancé Lucas Jones [Ryan Carnes]. How did Brad not know she lived there? It’s not a big town…

But the marriage was still not Rosalie’s big secret and neither was the secret reason those two were secretly married. Turns out Brad and Rosalie have some sort of shared criminal exploit in their past and if they divorce, one would have to testify against the other in a felony case. But even that was not supposed to be Rosalie’s “big” secret according to “General Hospital” spoilers and gossip. So how many layers thick had Ron Carlivati drawn Rosalie’s duplicity and secrets?

And, more importantly, did anyone really care about her character? The only plotline that hinged on Rosalie, now that Nikolas has ELQ firmly in his grasp, is her marriage to Brad which is only important because it’s a stumbling block to Brad marrying Lucas. However, a couple of weeks ago, Brad consulted with Alexis Davis [Nancy Lee Grahn] about extricating him from the marriage in such a way that he and Rosalie would still be safe from felony prosecution for this mystery crime.

If anyone can make that happen, it’s Alexis. And if she can make their marriage issues go away, there is absolutely no tether that we can see binding Rosalie to Port Charles. This is interesting because it relates to some other showbiz action. Tovar posted on Instagram today that she was doing some auditions. Does this mean that the actress is looking for work because her gig at General Hospital is over? She’s had a few guest spots on shows like CSI, NCIS and Criminal Minds, but is Tovar looking for more?

We have to wonder if this is a sign that Tovar is looking for a long term gig now that her run on General Hospital is officially over. Will Rosalie be back just for the divorce from Brad and then she’s out of there? Is this another Ron Carlivati plot that Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman have axed? We already saw them kill off the Valerie Spencer [Brytni Sarpi] pregnancy plot – are they culling off all the lame plots that Carlivati constructed before he left? And is Rosalie’s “secret” story on that list?
