‘General Hospital’ POLL: How Should Liz Be Punished for Lying and Keeping Jason from His Family? VOTE!

‘General Hospital’ spoilers indicate that the time is growing close for the big reveal that Liz Webber [Rebecca Herbst] has been lying for far too long to Jason Morgan [Billy Miller] about his identity. In fact, on Monday’s show, Jason will ask Helena Cassadine [Constance Towers] who knew that ‘Jake Doe’ was Jason Morgan and how long they knew. That’s a good question – too bad he won’t get the answers he’s looking for – at least not right now.

Liz has a little more time before all hell breaks loose and Jason and the rest of Port Charles discovers her duplicity and that both she and Nikolas Cassadine [Tyler Christopher] have known for way long that Jake was Jason. But once the news breaks – and it will – Liz better look out for all the women she’s scorned by keeping the big Jason secret. Carly Corinthos [Laura Wright] will be coming for her – and Sam Morgan [Kelly Monaco] is already itching to tear Liz a new one.

Monica Quartermaine [Lesley Charleson] won’t be pleased with her and Hayden Barnes [Rebecca Budig] may yet blame Liz, at least in part, for her shooting. And that’s just the women. Michael Quartermaine [Chad Duell] may not choke Liz, but he won’t be happy. Sonny Corinthos [Maurice Benard] will be furious – and he’s no one to take lightly. Morgan Corinthos [Bryan Craig] is a rage monster and there’s no telling what he could do to Liz if he’s in a bipolar mood.

But what does Liz really deserve for her crimes? Before we consider the punishment, you have to look at the crime. Liz was innocent to start with, but after the night of the Nurse’s Ball, she was almost as guilty as Nikolas. Liz was engaged in fraud by keeping Jason’s identity a secret, she knowingly committed adultery by sleeping with “Jake” when she knew he was married to Sam and, even worse, she tried to make Jason a bigamist by dragging him down the aisle knowing he wasn’t single.

On top of that, there’s the months of lying to everyone – Sonny, Monica, Sam, even her own son Jake Spencer [James Nigbor]. There is NO WAY that Liz will come out of this looking like anything but a lying, conniving, unfaithful, horrible, horrible, horrible person. And that sounds like someone who deserves to be punished for her misdeeds. But considering the scale of what Liz has done, exactly what should happen to her?
