‘General Hospital’ News: Writer Jean Passanante Returning to GH

We recently reported that Jean Passanante, writer for the hit daytime soap opera, “The Young and the Restless,” would not long be writing out the lives for the residents of Genoa City.

Passanante confirmed the news when a fan tweeted her saying, “Came to your Twitter as a Y&R fan. Stayed as a Jean Passanante fan. Thank you for using your platform to spread love not hate.”

Jean responded by saying, “ That’s so nice. Yes, world needs love sweet love, now more than ever. And, I’m no longer with Y&R so I’m glad you’re still with me.”

Ever since then, fans wondered what would be next for the Breakdown writer from The Young and the Restless. Well, Jean Passantane is extremely well connected in the business of writing soaps. She has written for shows such as All My Children, As The World Turns, and General Hospital.

Now, we can confirm via Jean Passanante’s Twitter, that the talented writer will be returning to one of her former jobs!

Passanante recently revealed via Twitter that she was ecstatic to go back and join the writing team over at ABC’s General Hospital.

She writes, “Heading back to Port Charles! I hear there’s one nutty hospital there,” while tagging her longtime colleague and head writer of General Hospital, Ron Carlivati. These two are surely excited to be reunited again, as they have shared messages back on forth on Twitter.

Jean Passantane was the Associate Head Writer for General Hospital from May 3, 2012, to November 25, 2013, so she definitely has the experience, knowledge, and familiarity, needed to join the team again as an excellent writer.

Fans are thrilled and have been sharing their support of the announcement via Twitter. One writes, “Yasss! I am so excited. Can’t wait for the romance. Congrats Jean. Powerhouse writing team #GH.”
